How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Fundy

Scotland only playign with Kenny Miller up front. Italy will ahve to make a real rick for Scotland to score again. However, you just never know with footy, will this be one of those surprise results?

How much of it was yours ???

Missed the free money on the tie

Scripophilist - 03 Sep 2005 18:42 - 4399 of 10502

Draw price is very low in the Scotland game.

Fundamentalist - 03 Sep 2005 18:44 - 4400 of 10502

Lot of people expecting 1-1 full time ?

Scripophilist - 03 Sep 2005 18:45 - 4401 of 10502

"How much of it was yours ???"

I was backing at 1.01 and laying off Warwickshire to be over round. So lots of volume but not much margin.

Scripophilist - 03 Sep 2005 18:46 - 4402 of 10502

I'm busy trading it now. The draw will slide out but Scotland will come in quite steeply if the score stays the same.

Fundamentalist - 03 Sep 2005 18:48 - 4403 of 10502

See hampshire got docked 6 runs for slow over rate - that could have jolted the market if it had been 15 runs closer

Congrats to Hampshire and my old mate Nic

Evening All,

Had to leave the home at halftime of the England game and only just returned. It was quite a nervy 2nd half as I listened to it on the radio even though England scored as couldn't even have greened up. Just grateful that they scraped a win.

Checking out the Scots now.

Is is just me or do Italy looks disinterested and pretty ordinary going forward

still keeping the powder dry

ptholden - 03 Sep 2005 19:05 - 4406 of 10502

Can't believe Vieri missed that sitter. italy win looking unlikely at the mo. Greened up again and will wait to see how it pans out.

ptholden - 03 Sep 2005 19:07 - 4407 of 10502

Bugger, moved too soon!!

Scripophilist - 03 Sep 2005 19:10 - 4408 of 10502

Kids are home from a day out so greened up and closing out now or I'll get it in the neck from the missus. 93 whatever happens.

I have just been playing the book that it is, no great insight.

bakko - 03 Sep 2005 19:26 - 4409 of 10502

Just gone green on the Scotland game having got myself out of a sticky situation when scalping on the Scots. That'll teach me not to scalp on the underdogs!

Scripophilist - 03 Sep 2005 19:32 - 4410 of 10502

Any excellent days work on the cricket, footy and horses! I think I'll take next week off!
