* M0NEY-AM G0LF DAY EVENT: 27 HOLES, INCL. SUSTENANCE & PRIZES (IN ADDITION TO M0NEY-AM SPONSORED PRIZES!) on: -
THURSDAY, 08 JUNE, 2006 *
So several months have passed... Based on the success of last Summer's Event at Longcliffe G.C., a few of you have asked me to take over the reigns from PTH and organise another G0LF M0NEY-AM DAY again based in the MIDLANDS. This is fairEST to the majority coming from all over the UK! From initial feedback (reflecting on 2005 36-Hole hot mid-Summer's day!), the popular view for a 2006 Event has been agreed, as follows: -
* Tea/Coffee on arrival.
* 9 Holes (4BBB 3/4 Stab.) Comp.
* Sandwiches/Lunch.
** 18 Holes (MAIN INDIVIDUAL (FULL HANDICAP) STABLEFORD EVENT) with M-AM and Golfing Prizes for Winners, incl. "Nearest-to-the-Pin" on the 9th. Hole and "The-Longest-Drive" on the 18th. Hole.
* 3-Course Evening Dinner (full waitress service), incl. coffee & mints + Prize Presentation/Mic. Table.
(** ADDITIONAL PRIZES from our generous SPONSORS include: - 3 months worth of Shares Magazine sent to the homes of EACH COMPETITOR every week. The Overall Winner will get The Money-AM Annual Golf Challenge Cup to keep for good plus 1 year's worth of Money-AM Level 2 service worth 357.50 + Vat. The Runner-Up and Third Placed Winners will each get a medal to keep plus 6 months' level 2.)
Venue: - H0RSLEY L0DGE G.C., Belper, Derbyshire (Championship Meadowland Course with American-type Greens). Refreshments will be in the On-Site Kingfisher Restaurant. Entry Fee is: - 60 per Competitor which will cover all of the above ** plus enough to buy some additional golfing prizes.

Mark,
MoneyAm are happy to continue the sponsorship with prizes and support for next year. In addition I will attempt to get extra prizes from "Others"
As for an Autumn meeting, I cant take the pressure, once a year is enough for me :o
Fundy,
Yes the 17th is still over the road and causes much weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth. I have never hit a car but have had several "in off" near misses from the trees on either side.

Bob,
Your proposed 2007 dates of: "Mon 4th June,Thurs 31st May, Tues 22 & 29th May" are far too way off to evaluate properly but Thursdays are usually OK for me. But as long as it's not a Wednesday!
Course appears OK although not researched it properly, to be honest. Venue leaves me with multiple accommodation options, which is good.
Regardless, I think you can reasonably consider The Shark "in" for next year, all things being equal...

MG, You now have a worldwide R&A ban for using your mobile-camera on a golf course. BTW think I've finally realise something - there is only one place for me to go this summer and that is the GYMNASIUM.
Jeez!! :o(

Mark, glad to hear you are a probable starter for next annual mam open event.
The dates and price are provisional at the moment. The venue is fixed but dates and price are not.
It is still early days. I have not got the details for the qualifying competitions yet, or the TV rights finalised (Bloody World Cup Football). Nike are having trouble with Tiger Woods over sponsorship, something about exclusive rights.
The reason I have posted early is to quash whispering campaign started by MG and Bullie, suggesting I was arranging the venue at the pitch and putt course in the Outer Hebrides . Also, Choccie needs time to fit it in with her many speaking engagements.

Bob, Is it true that only the top 10 places from the 2006 Event gain automatic entry to Verulam next year? If so, that means Tiger will have to pre-qualify like everyone else. Anyway if it helps, then The Shark may waive his usual "appearance fee". BTW Chockie doesn't do speaches - she just giggles and says: "oh blimey!".

"Oh, blimey..." - scored my best round of the season in a Stableford Comp. this afternoon: - 38 points. So, depending on the C.S.S., expect to be cut back down to single figures by this time tomorrow (9.1 or 9.3). The Verulam Event can't come round soon enough! :o)

Had my best round ever in a KO Match yesterday with a 81 gross-- obviously peaked too late!
Markus, really enjoyed the day at Horsley Lodge and looking forward to next year. Thanks for your efforts.
On a separate point, there is an interesting article in Investors Chronicle today on AIM shares that qualify for Business Taper relief,,,,very confusing area, and I expect some people will be in for a shock when they sell. Also lists those AIM shares that can be included in an ISA.

Ian I'm with you on that, maybe a 27 hole pitch 'a' putt for all us non-golfers would be an idea. If not then I suppose I could have a go at the real thing except a handicap of 100 and a football would be more appropriate for me!!
