Israeli Gaza conflict?????? (GAZA)

Fred1new - 06 Jan 2009 19:21

Will this increase or decrease the likelihood of terrorist actions in America, Europe and the rest of the world?

If you were a member of a family murdered in this conflict, would you be seeking revenge?

Should Tzipi Livni and Ehud Olmert, be tried for war crimes if or when this conflict comes to an end?

What will the price of oil be in 4 weeks time?

Haystack - 27 Feb 2011 17:22 - 4450 of 6906

And the news media in Israel that are being reported on above are heavily pro Israeli.

Fred1new - 27 Feb 2011 17:58 - 4451 of 6906

Nobody would have guessed the last two opinions!

cynic - 27 Feb 2011 18:36 - 4452 of 6906

fred - don't show yourself up as being more of a moron than usual ..... haystack's comment was totally precictable ... mine was really just the statement of something fairly obvious to anyone who knows much or even anything of m/e .... i could have been much (stupidly) provocative by commenting that al jazeerah is run out of jordan (i think) whence most palestinians in managerial jobs claim they originate - this should provoke a certain poster to draw a parallel with austria and germans of a certain political persuasion!

Haystack - 27 Feb 2011 19:03 - 4453 of 6906

Aljazeera is in Doha, Qatar. It is owned by Qatar Media Corporation which owns most of the media in Qatar.

Fred1new - 27 Feb 2011 23:26 - 4454 of 6906

Cynic.

As usual, you are your usual stupid provocative self.

The contents of your contributions rarely, if ever, add any value to the the thread.

Generally, you just expose your naivety, narrow mindedness and obvious unpleasantness.
=============

Interesting to see Arthur Daley and the new Dell boy trying to flog arms to the Egyptian military.

cynic - 28 Feb 2011 08:36 - 4455 of 6906

you will note that my initial post, which you predictably choose/chose to deride, was both balanced and UNprovocative ..... the second was intentional and patently effective in its effect

as usual, anyone who doesn't agree with you or haystack (i often disagree strongly with views expressed by others too) is, in your eyes, automatically "naive, narrow minded and unpleasant"

Fred1new - 28 Feb 2011 09:22 - 4456 of 6906

No.

But, but you are a special case.

cynic - 28 Feb 2011 10:40 - 4457 of 6906

certainly i am happier to march to my own tune rather than just follow the herd

Haystack - 28 Feb 2011 13:29 - 4458 of 6906

Haven't you noticed that the BBC is frequently pro Palestinian and often more so than Al Jazeera.

cynic - 28 Feb 2011 13:53 - 4459 of 6906

i merely observed, primarily to enable people to try to get a balanced view as what might truly be happening.

as for BBC, you may well be right for i only see AJ when i am in m/e ...... far be it from me to say BBC is other than strictly impartial, but certainly the tories have often complained that BBC is left-wing biased, and assuredly many UK gov'ts have been distinctly pro-arab or even anti-israel/jews

fahel - I like the first video - where liebman from movements.org is interviewed. I approve of the article on the front page of his website (www.movements.org)

ahoj - 28 Feb 2011 16:31 - 4462 of 6906

Cynic, I hope they are not just following money.

The best option for the West is to watch the Arab countries to change! (fight internally and destroy their resources). They have to sell oil to pay for the damage after all!

Supporting anyone in the conflict can be counter productive, so keeping quiet is the best option.

cynic - 28 Feb 2011 17:34 - 4463 of 6906

i'm thick .... who following what money and which conflict are you talking about?

Haystack - 28 Feb 2011 19:03 - 4464 of 6906

It looks like Sukey works when the protestors are non violent. If there is any violence then they will still get kettled.

Gausie - 28 Feb 2011 19:08 - 4465 of 6906

Haystack - you don't get it - but then I don't expect you to.

Haystack - 28 Feb 2011 20:22 - 4466 of 6906

If demonstrators stick to agreed routes/ timetable and don't involve in violence then they don't need to worry about being kettled by the police. The last time kettling was used it was in response to violence that had started 1 1/2 hours ealrlier. I doubt that Sukey will stop kettling if violence is involved. The use of police helicopters above marches can respond fast enough to contain problem areas. The use of teh app is supposed to reduce tensions and remove the need for kettling. Kettling is used in response to violent demonstrators and anarchists.

Gausie - 01 Mar 2011 01:02 - 4467 of 6906

lol.

Haystack - 01 Mar 2011 06:32 - 4468 of 6906

You may laugh, but kettling has only happened in response to violence.

cynic - 01 Mar 2011 07:29 - 4469 of 6906

is kettling when protesters get boiled in oil, or is it griddled in a BBQ?
