Doubt it, if hes like you he wont listen to the MP.

In fact the poor sod might aswel just send him out delivering leaflets.

A government minister no less. He arranged it all himself. The rules for applications for internships are that you submit your CV and covering letter without your name and personal details.

Tell him to be carefull if its a Tory male.

And even more carefull if it's female...undecided.

CON - 34% (-1)
UKIP - 13% (+1)
LDEM - 8%

UKIP getting stronger Hays, Id start to sweat if I were you. Are you still in bed??, tap Hilary on the shoulder and inform her labour are moving up again.

UKIP going nowhere but down.

CON + UKIP beats LAB + LDEM (just).

If UKIP going down goes to CON and not to LAB then CON is still OK.

IMHO, winning the next GE is going to be all about:

1. Winning the marginal seats.
2. The battle between LAB and CON in capturing UKIP votes.
3. Mopping up the remnants of the LDEM voters, who are about to disappear into oblivion.
4. Which party do people 'trust' the most and want to vote for?
5. Defining which aspect of the word 'trust' is most important to voters.

eg, Trust with the Economy? Trust with the NHS? Trust with Education? Trust with Law and Order? Etc, etc.

The Libs will rise again at the GE. They have been in this situation before in advance of a GE. Their party machinery is very good and they have always recovered at the election.

LibDem support tends to localised, particularly in the west country. This means that they will probably still hold nearly all their seats, even with a reduced share of the vote, because of how the first past the post voting system works.

UKIP support, on the other hand, is broad across the whole country, and that's what should prevent them from getting any seats, even if they poll a higher share of the vote than the LibDems. Farage would be better off, imo, ditching any national ambitions, and putting 110% effort instead on ten or dozen 'winnable' northern constituencies which are typically Labour held with a predominantly white English population of Sun and/or Daily Mail readers, but where immigration is a serious concern nonetheless. Places like Rochdale (where that Gillian Duffy lady caused a rumpus with Gordon Clown last election) spring to mind.
