Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

CC,
There is actually a counter-argument to the concept of Labour drifting into political oblivion for 25 years if Scotland gain independence and lose all of those seats, despite the fact that it's a nice idea.
Basically, the Scottish arm of the Labour is more left-wing than its English counterpart, so, without the influence of the commie Jocks, the Labour party will naturally position itself closer to the centre over time and, as a result it will become more attractive to the masses and, therefore, not drift into the wilderness for so long as some think.

£150k for a first time buyer seems over the top, never mind the £500k, which is just plain absurd.
The average wage in the UK is £25k, and a lot less than that in reality.

Shortie,
Bernie Ecclestone was a customer of my husband's many moons ago when he used to run Motor Racing Developments in Chessington. Everything had to be just soooooooo precise and exact. My husband used to go back to the office and work out a price for the job, he'd then double it, and then add another £10k for luck because of the aggro factor.

Scottish independence TV debate: First blood to Alistair Darling as he clashes over currency with Alex Salmond in televised Yes/No debate
James Cusick Author Biography
Political Correspondent
Wednesday 06 August 2014
The issue of what currency an independent Scotland would use sparked heated exchanges in the first televised referendum debate between the First Minister, Alex Salmond, and Alistair Darling, the leader of the pro-Union Better Together campaign.
With barely six weeks until Scotland votes on whether or not it should become an independent state, Mr Salmond markedly refused to state what his “plan B” would be if Westminster refused to let Scots continue to use the pound.
The gloves came off when the former Chancellor, Mr Darling, chose to personally attack the Scottish National Party leader’s promises on the pound by stating: “An eight-year-old can tell you what Scotland’s capital and flag is. But you can’t tell us what Scotland’s currency will be.”

Cameron won't survive the GE, no prime minister has ever survived a GE following riots on the streets of London during their term.
I quite like this blog anyway but from then to now what's changed.

I'm not sure where you got that info, Shortie, but it's incorrect. Maggie was returned following riots in Brixton in both 1981 and 1985.

Boris Johnson: I will stand for Parliament in 2015
Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London, has said he would like to run for Parliament at the next election
By Matthew Holehouse, Political Correspondent
10:21AM BST 06 Aug 2014
Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London, put an end to years of speculation and prevarication this morning by announcing he is planning a return to Parliament.
Mr Johnson, the former MP for Henley, said he is searching for a seat he can fight at the 2015 election and "in all probability" will stand.
A return to Parliament will be widely interpreted a staging post in a campaign to replace David Cameron as Tory leader.
Mr Johnson said if he is selected he will serve out his term as Mayor, which ends in 2016.

Great news that Boris plans to stand at next year's general election - I've always said I want my star players on the pitch.
