Fred doesn't do debates. It is just a stream of nonsense. I asked myself if I would read a thread just composed of Fred's nonsense. The answer is that I would never read the thread at all. On that basis I decided not to read his posts ever. The thread is much improved by Fred's permanent absense when I read it.

Sir Mick Jagger, Dame Judi Dench and Stephen Hawking have joined hundred of celebrities, artists and public figures calling on the people of Scotland to vote to stay in the union.


Over 200 public figures from sport, cinema, television and literature have written an open letter to the people of Scotland in advance of next month’s referendum which says: “Let’s stay together”.


Other signatories include Helena Bonham Carter, the actress, Tom Daley, the Olympian, and singers Dame Vera Lynn and Sir Cliff Richard.


The letter states: “We want to let you know how very much we value our bonds of citizenship with you, and to express our hope that you will vote to renew them.


“What unites us is much greater than what divides us. Let's stay together.”

Financial Yield? Payback time? Beating inflation? Losing bank interest?
Include a separate water heater or not?
How many quotations?
Own installers?
Scaffolders - own team? Regular contractors? How long before and after installation?

Cost seems to range from £6,500 - £7,500 for a 4kWH installation of 16 No. x 250w panels
Financial Savings seem to be around £800 - £1,200 pa (give or take).

These and a few more topics besides are just a few of the considerations.

Fortunately, Planning Permission isn't required!
Conclusions?

Hey! This is definitely worth doing but take care what you buy and who you buy it from!

Anyway, have to admit it is a beautiful warm day in the Dordogne and the wine is delightfully cheap.

The one thing I admire about Cameron is how long he has held on to his job in spite of u-turn after U-turn, catastrophe after catastrophe and splitting his party.

I have a solar panel on my motor home.

Very effective and runs the majority of my electrics.

Can be dodgy in winter but compensate by increasing number of storage batteries and also a back 15 amp generator. Rarely use the latter.
