THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Good morning everybody. Todays thought for the day is this;

If moths are attracted by light so much, how come they only come out at night?

Alan

wilbs - 28 Jun 2005 07:50 - 450 of 81564

Cos it takes them that long to find the light switch?

hewittalan6 - 28 Jun 2005 07:54 - 451 of 81564

Good point Wilbs. However, on the subject of light, Einstein got it wrong when he said nothing can travel faster than light. No matter how fast light goes, it always finds the dark got there first.
By the way, went to my doctor yesterday. He told me I was a paranoid schizophrenic.
Well he didn't exactly say that, but we know what he was hinting at.

See what you mean Al.
Its also like the light in the fridge, how do we know it really goes off when the door is closed?

hewittalan6 - 29 Jun 2005 16:51 - 453 of 81564

This thread has gone quiet. Even I forgot to post todays thought for the day so please accept this one as a thought for today and tommorrow;

Why is "abbreviation" such a long word?

Alan

proptrade - 29 Jun 2005 17:19 - 454 of 81564

favorite word of the moment - confrabricate - basically it is fabricating a story to the point that you believe it yourself.ie what great traders we all are and forget about the dogs in the bottom draw!

hewittalan6 - 29 Jun 2005 17:41 - 455 of 81564

Cant forget about them. there are so many I had to buy a new set of drawers so I had another bottom drawer to keep them all in.
If I get many more I may be in a position to put in a bid for IKEA!!

wilbs - 29 Jun 2005 17:46 - 456 of 81564

Why is difficult hard to spell? I think I spelt it right?

Suggest you join the HFN (British Dyslexic Association)

hewittalan6 - 29 Jun 2005 17:55 - 458 of 81564

Speaking of which. Does anyone remember a daytime BBC programme with Bob Hoskins in called Move It? It was aimed at adults who couldn't read or write and ended by telling you to send an SAE to the following address!! What was that all about then?
