THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

goldfinger - 13 Aug 2014 13:01 - 44943 of 81564

ohhh the torygraph will always come out pro Tory, what they should be commenting on is the for ever increasing fall in living standards and labours overal majority in parliament as per 38% of the vote that they will get........

Latest YouGov / The Sun results 12th August - Con 35%, Lab 38%, LD 8%, UKIP 11%

Gives labour a 80 plus overal majority.

Not long now Hays before the Mansion tax and greater council tax rises.

Haystack - 13 Aug 2014 13:11 - 44944 of 81564

Polling Report that you often quote is showing 32 majority.

goldfinger - 13 Aug 2014 13:12 - 44945 of 81564

It was showing that late monday.

Bank of England governor Mark Carney sparked worries over possible significant increases in interest rates today.

He stressed that any rise is likely to be “gradual” and “limited”, but then added: “That is an expectation — not a promise.”

The Bank’s forecasts suggest that rates will rise to around two and a half or three per cent over the next few years.

But Mr Carney said: “It’s not a guarantee. There are events, there are things that could happen.”

Why is Carney paid so much?

Haystack - 13 Aug 2014 13:15 - 44947 of 81564

Sky is reporting interest rates rising unlikely this year.

Labour were contemplating council tax rises under Buffoon Brown, when they introduce them 'if' they form the next government then that will help the income of strapped wage earners. Plus the intrusion of meddling council officers being allowed to enter peoples home, that'll be bl--dy fantastic.

goldfinger - 13 Aug 2014 13:31 - 44949 of 81564

But labour will re-distribute the income in the form of a lower income tax band for lower earners sources say.

They will aim to re-balance income between the have and have nots that as formed under the Tories.

Claret Dragon - 13 Aug 2014 13:33 - 44950 of 81564

The economic mess is still unravelling.

goldfinger - 13 Aug 2014 13:34 - 44951 of 81564

Dont forget lower income people have to be able to afford SKY TV, pit bull terriers, super strength larger, asian takeaways, pizzas, and 200 ciggys a week.

Plus the odd joint.

goldfinger - 13 Aug 2014 13:39 - 44952 of 81564

CD you are right what a mess Labour will inherit from the Tories, NHS going down the pan, passport office closed down virtualy, Prisoners let out far too early, loads of immigrants coming in, schools taken over by ISIS, no public libarys or parks, pot holes in the road, drugs not available, no social workers or care workers anymore, no interest on savings,no sports facilitys for kids, no swimming pools, aircraft carriers with no planes on them, no army, or navy, ...........and a whole lot more. Hey but wait on the top 1% of people are doing VERY WELL.

Im sure it wasnt as bad as this under labour.

In fact I bloody well know it wasnt.

2517GEORGE - 13 Aug 2014 13:51 - 44953 of 81564

gf post 951, do you really believe that? and post 954, have you ever thought that it's as bad as this BECAUSE of Labour. I'm not enamoured with the Tories but they are getting the economy moving, I know who I'd trust more with the economy, without which we'd be like much of europe.

goldfinger - 13 Aug 2014 14:26 - 44955 of 81564

George yes of course I beleive that, and its not as bad as this because of Labour it was the BANKERS who caused the World recession and the Tories who went for the policy of austerity.

It didnt need to be as bad as this, Osbourne because of his inexperience couldnt use any other economic policy.

And as it been any good?, still £70 odd billion outstanding on deficit after 4 years and only 30% of deficit cut back plus Tories have borrowed more in 4 years than labour did in 3 parliaments. The debt they have wrung up is horrendous.

Too many people taking right wing press as gospel.

A security issue

Maybe some of you have Candy Crush, Bubble Witch or other games on your phones. Take a look at the permissions that you give when installing them.

You allow them to have the details of your phone, such as the device Id, your phone number, if a call is active and the number you are calling. They have access to your network and can see all other devices on your WiFi. Access is given to read and modify any USB storage (would include a PC if connected). All your image and sound files are readable. It can stop your tablet from sleeping so that an app can run 24/7.

It doesn't matter that you are not playing a game at the time because there is a part that is running in background all the time.

If you have Android then go to Settings, Apps and look at a game and you will see the permissions you have given away.

NSA and GCHQ use these to see who is calling who, read documents on your phone, wake up the phone, turn on microphones and cameras. They can track you if you have your phone with you. There are no ways that you can get these games without giving the permissions.

Just think. Why would Candy Crush need your phone number or who you are calling?

It's the gene which also gets me appreciating Mary Berry, that does it. I'm sure of it.

Well that and my love of briefly clad erotic women.
