Click on the help button on ADVFN - then follow the instructions to get streaming working. Streaming uses java so somewhere in there should be your answer.

I've no idea how it happened but I appear to have deleted the Disk-Cleanup program from my PC. And no it's not still in the Recycle Bin. Is there any way I can get it back?????
TIA, Guitarist.

Some help with networking please, it’s a new area for me…

I'm about to get broadband ADSL for my desktop (Win 98SE). I want to link my laptop (XP Home) to the desktop so that I can access broadband from the laptop too. I want a wireless link and from info I’ve found using Google I’ve concluded that the following is all I need: a wireless PCI card for the desktop and a wireless PCMCIA card for the laptop.
Two questions:
Is my conclusion correct?
Is the mix of Win98SE and XP ok for broadband sharing?

Kayak - 10 Nov 2003 12:33 - 52 of 133

Geonic, yes, it should work fine. Windows 98SE includes internet connection sharing (not plain Windows 98). The two wireless cards should be the same make or preferably bought as a set to ensure there are no incompatibilities.

Geonic - 10 Nov 2003 14:39 - 53 of 133

Thanks Kayak. Compatibility issue noted.

Has any got last tuesdays FT- In it there was an article on cross transfer of data from one PC to a new PC without the need to reload using discs and passwords [which is such a pain].
If they have can they tell me the web address of the company that produces these cables which allow me to do the above.
Thanks in advance.

probably a silly answer but have you tried right clicking it and saving it to file and opening it from there (after running anti virus check) I was just browsing, hope it helps, probably won't!

zarif - 15 Nov 2003 14:08 - 57 of 133

optomistic: tried all that but no dice

mordan - 15 Nov 2003 15:02 - 58 of 133

I'm about to buy the bits to set up a wireless network (desktop < -> laptop).
For my desktop I'm looking at a PCI card that says the PCI slot should be '2.1 compliant'. How can I tell if it's 2.1 compliant?
If the type or age of the PC gives any clue, I have a Gateway AMD Athlon 750MHZ bought in 2000.
