opto - I'd like to have said WHEN but it is best to say IF or maybe IT IS LIKELY - I previously heavily invested in MONI and TWT and so I've learned the hard way to not be categorical - but I do think RSA will come good in time.

namreh3 - 01 Dec 2004 13:21 - 46 of 761

Increase in activity today. Nice to see.

optomistic - 01 Dec 2004 13:30 - 47 of 761

Yes namreh, nice to see the price rise on a good trading volume.

namreh3 - 01 Dec 2004 13:35 - 48 of 761

A lot of punters in 77-78p in the last 2 weeks before fall back, and SP hasn't languished in 72-75p range as in last few months.Range 78-82p before Xmas break with spiking to 80-85p to trade in and out (IMHO). Watch this space.

goal - 01 Dec 2004 22:19 - 49 of 761

If we breake out of the 80p resistance we might see the price go up rapidly.goal.

namreh3 - 02 Dec 2004 14:00 - 50 of 761

Digits crossed.

namreh3 - 02 Dec 2004 14:03 - 51 of 761

Have noticed tends to trend up in months to beginning of Dec and then fall back until Mar. Historical nonsense, no doubt.

namreh3 - 10 Dec 2004 14:54 - 52 of 761

Bit of a lacklustre week due to the ongoing US litigation and dull markets. C'est la vie!

optomistic - 10 Dec 2004 15:02 - 53 of 761

I'm with Goal on this one. Break 80p and we could then see some good movement.

namreh3 - 10 Dec 2004 15:09 - 54 of 761

May be some time until the litigation appeals re Twin Towers is resolved. Unless bid approach materialises or market upturn will range trade up to 78p in MHO. Hope I am wrong though!

THERE IS AN ACTIVE THREAD RUNNING IN "TRADERS ROOM" under the title of "RSA VERY ACTIVE OVER THE LAST WEEK "
pity that two are running and in seperate rooms

i suggest you look at my posting no 124 OF THE ABOVE IN THE TRADERS ROOM..I WOULD HAVE MADE THAT POSTING IN THE INVESTORS ROOM IF I HAD BEEN AWARE OF THE INVESTOR ROOM THREAD

is there any method to drag my posting so it can appear in both rooms without my having to go through the time consuming experiance of typing it all out again......or can IAIN at 'head office' do that for me...if so IAIAN please do that!!!!! !!!!

optomistic - 10 Dec 2004 15:45 - 56 of 761

goal - 22 Dec 2004 17:06 - 57 of 761

Ok I was wrong about my posting, 1 before christmas, it will have to wait to the new year.I will hold. Merry christmas every one.goal.

optomistic - 22 Dec 2004 17:10 - 58 of 761

Not Christmas yet goal, but you are probably correct we will have to wait for the new year.
All the best to all,
opto

Optomistic & gang, HAPPY NEW YEAR & a prosperous one too.goal.

optomistic - 01 Jan 2005 10:25 - 60 of 761

HNY to you goal, let's hope that this year is going to be a little more kind to us than last. If you are a chartist you will have noted that 'TA' is looking more positive than it has done for some while, so let's hope we don't have to wait too long for that 1

optomistic,

as mpw777 seems to to be absent currently, I have taken the liberty of pasting his post 124 from the trader's Room thread, as you requested above.

I currently have no position nor an opinion, but the chart still looks ok to me.

royal sun alliance ...each of the majestic insurers who make up that consortium used to be the pride of the nation..if not the world. now buched to -gether it is all a rotten egg

the fact is that risks were taken on board at ridiculously low premiumsand if that was not bad enough other riskd had huge liability exposures. frankly, in my considered, view the top management just did not know.....or, as Galbraith stated, that management did not know that they did not know...i suppose the latter is much more dangerous.

at the present time the high court has reserved judgement on 10 cases of pleural plaque. if the judgement goes against insurers there are 500,000 cases waiting to follow. guess who is a major insurer in that area....yes it is yours not so truly the right royal sun alliance.

another alarming aspect is that royal continue to take on board risks which other insurers would reject. that is not all in that royal premiums for such horrendous risks can be astonishingly low.

i thought that royal were going to pull themselves out of the muck heap and that was supported by the executive statement about 14 days ago. in fact at that time i even thought about an option purchase. however information just come to my hand results in my opinion that RSA is destined to stay in that muck heap...and ,of course, RSA have now to make a payment for the other twin tower.

In case you have'nt seen thishttp://www.theherald.co.uk/30716.shtml

optomistic - 03 Jan 2005 17:33 - 63 of 761

goal, it does not seem so long ago that we had a flurry of activity on the rumour of a bid. At todays valuation of RSA the likelyhood of further interest/speculation is always a possibility. As I mentioned in an earlier post the indicators are moving in a positive direction, they are not infallible but a useful guide.

namreh3 - 04 Jan 2005 14:33 - 64 of 761

good volume today chaps (and chapelles!). Nice.
