It is with deep regret I have to inform everyone that Dave Anderson(Crocodile) sadly passed away last night in his sleep.


This is a complete shock to all his family and friends, therefore can I ask everyone to respect their privacy and not phone his home etc.


David was the most likable and open person I have ever met and a huge friend of mine and MoneyAMs.

Whatever I post will never come near doing justice to this great man, so I will simply stop here.

20.13 I have had a few brief conversations with David's family today. Despite all that has happened they have managed to briefly log onto MoneyAm and seen the numerous postings. I know they are moved by the response. The family are in the process of organising David's funeral but matters are slightly complicated with the Bank Holiday weekend. I will post more in due course when I have some more information.

26 May:I have received many many e-mails with offers of help and offers of sympathy. Many thanks for all these and apologises if I have not been able to reply but I will get round to it. I will also make sure those that have asked me to pass on any messages to Davids family get sent on.

In the meantime I know many of you are wondering what happened. At this stage it is not for me to go into details but suffice to say it is of a natural cause and totally unexpected.

David had withdrawn a little from the site over the last few weeks as he felt he wanted to devote more time to looking after Maria who is very poorly. Although he did not post much in the day I do know he was constantly logging on. He still continued to burn the midnight oil to create each day traders thread and he would spend about 15 hours each weekend creating the Weekend/Monday thread.

16.34 26/May Have come off the phone from Rachel(David's daughter). Today is not an easy day for the family, I think they were so busy yesterday that today has been harder as it has had time to sink in. We talked about Funeral arrangements and Rachel mentioned that they could not book anything yet but will let me know as soon as possible. She mentioned once again about all the postings which they have been busy reading and thank everyone for all the kind words and thoughts. They will arrange a public funeral as they know a lot of people would like to attend.

Funeral Arrangements


David's Funeral service will be held at St Benedict Biscop Church, Wombourne MAP on Friday the 4th of June at 1pm, followed by burial at Gornal Wood Cemetery. MAP

There will be a wake afterwards at The Vine Public House Wombourne (this is a few doors down from the church above). Friends old & new are most welcome.

Didn't know David but saw his posts on this & other boards....some of the most helpful & useful posts around. Always looked for his posts to see what the weekend papers were saying.

There are many like me, who haven't spoken but appreciated what David did, & are also saddened by his passing away.

Although I never knew him, I still appreciated his wisdom and generosity. I had hoped, one day, to go on one of his courses. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends.

reading through the BBs has been the sadest yet most uplifting read, so many tributes to a man never met by most contributors who never the less feel a great sense of loss.

Very disturbed and saddenend by the news I received today. That may appear irrational, at first, as I never actually met David. Yet like so many whose only contact was through the medium here, I felt I "knew" him. It is a testament to the man and his tireless efforts, typified by his daily "Traders Thread & Thoughts.." that, despite the virtual environment we occupy, his presence was so tangible. This site and the others he occupied with such aplomb will never be the same. It is very difficult to accept that we have seen his last thread.
David's untimely passing has left a void for all of us, the greater for his family and friends to whom I offer deepest sympathy.

I met David at one of his thursday courses,very sad to hear the news. A decent bloke who will be missed by many.

I didn't know david personally so i suppose i am one of the many who took all his hard efforts and good work for granted and never took the chance to say thank you.

didn't know David at all but had seen his informative posts on several sites(aswell as his own). It is obviously a huge loss to his family and friends aswell as to the trading community that relied /met/worked with him.
