THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

More Tories lined up to defect to UKIP, the papers full of it in the morning.

Ohhhhhh this is so exciting Hays.

VICTIM - 29 Aug 2014 07:10 - 45293 of 81564

Last night I saw a trailer for a documentary on I think tonight . It said tens of thousands of Romany Gypsies have invaded Britain and their culture of allowing/forcing 14 yr old girls to marry , is at odds with BRITISH law . So now we have the Police to contend with ever increasing workloads . Multiculturalism is a massive mistake and we are paying for it. How we allow Mass immigration is beyond me .

Stan - 29 Aug 2014 07:42 - 45294 of 81564

Well V, you only have one alternative then, vote "Con"servative as they promise to get immigration down if they get elected... Oh wait a minute -):

aldwickk - 29 Aug 2014 07:56 - 45295 of 81564

Ask Tony Blair it was his idea , with the help of Mandelson and don't forget its a free EU movement of labour

VICTIM - 29 Aug 2014 08:01 - 45296 of 81564

I wouldn't exactly call Romany Gypsies part of a labour movement , Iv'e got a few other words for them though.

Since the defection of the Tory MP to UKIP and eight more MPs in the background just about ready to do the same, I do expect there will be a rising swell.

In very simple terms, we hate the EU. It is not for us. We don't want to 'do it like that'. There is a better way - 'The UK Way'

What with one thing and another, particularly the utter total farce of uncontrolled immigration, the EU's unreasonable interference with our national legalities, the EU's nameless/powerless MEP system (who are they? what do they do? etc, etc), the majority of the people in the UK despise the EU in the main. They really do not want a referendum. They want out!

Damn it! If Scotland can even consider coming out of the UK and managing on its own (albeit that it will never happen), then this paints a clear message that the UK can at least consider coming out of the EU.

Now clearly, when this does actually start to happen for real. The we will finally be able to negotiate a better deal for the UK and more likely then actually stay in.

BUT ONLY IF WE GET A BETTER DEAL.

Cameron doesn't seem to ever say what it is that the Tories really want. It's all rhetoric and smoke and daggers. We hardly believe we'll get a referendum under the Tories. Now, I'm beginning to believe Labour will win the next GE for sure. The trouble is for me, I don't believe Labour can do a good negotiation for us.

Haystack - 29 Aug 2014 11:38 - 45299 of 81564

Labour isn't planning to negotiate with the EU. They are committed federalists. Don't forget that they gave away our veto on treaty changes. That's why the referendum wasn't poissiblke on the Lisbon treaty.

Execline

Good post, the Tories can't win under Cameron and if they do win it will only be for another Lib/Dem/Tory government again. Boris Johnson is the only hope of winning.

VICTIM - 29 Aug 2014 11:53 - 45301 of 81564

He seems a decent chap and taking a big gamble, but as Iv'e said about UKIP at least they are bringing it onto the front pages . Personally Immigration is THE BIG ONE for me .I think it irks a lot of people , but you know. Was this done specifically on the day of the latest figures . Some suspect he had talks with senior Cons and got the feeling there was no real want for a referendum .

Haystack - 29 Aug 2014 12:35 - 45302 of 81564

There is no reason to believe that Cameron won't have a referendum.

ExecLine - 29 Aug 2014 12:39 - 45303 of 81564

Aldwickk

"Boris Johnson is the only hope of winning."

I think this is right. He is great fun. He is highly watchable and makes politics interesting.

Importantly, I think BoJo has great ideas, innovative ideas , he gets people on side and he can get the job done.

Cameron will muddle on with his usual rhetoric and definitely lose the GE for the Tories. They need to realise this quickly, get rid of Cameron as leader.

Boris Tories would be much better Tories than Cameron Tories, don'tchafink?

Hmmm? Could Cameron be Mayor of London? Hey! He is only one letter short - and it's a 'Y'. Let's make it a 'Y not'?)

ExecLine - 29 Aug 2014 12:46 - 45304 of 81564

Hmmm? Thinks......If only BoJo would defect to UKIP.

Then UKIP would walk it, straight into government.

Nigel Farage has claimed that there are an increasing number of both Conservative and Labour MPs who will follow Carswell's example should he win the upcoming by-election.

Douglas Carswell decided to stand down as an MP - rather than sitting in the Commons under a UKIP banner until next year's general election, thereby triggering a by-election in his Essex constituency of Clacton.

This act has been considered to be exceedingly honourable.

hilary - 29 Aug 2014 13:06 - 45305 of 81564

BoJo is intelligent. There's no way he'll defect to UKIP. That would spell the end of his political career.

Stan - 29 Aug 2014 13:12 - 45306 of 81564

Lay off David please, I've always said it... he's doing a fantastic job -):

Dil - 29 Aug 2014 13:32 - 45307 of 81564

Yeah reminds me of Van Gaal :-)

doodlebug4 - 29 Aug 2014 13:50 - 45308 of 81564

goldfinger - 29 Aug 2014 14:17 - 45309 of 81564

Van God you mean.

Camoron is a finished force now.

Best interests of Torries to get a new leader BEFORE GE.

Hays seems to be in a suspended state of ...................well what, I cant come up with an answer its so complex.

Doodles hows it going old bud, your mate CR as had his collar felt in a big way this morning..........and theirs a lot more to come.
