How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?
Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

"On another topic - saw an ad in a paper in Spain for this http://agents.arbmirage.co.uk - offering a business supplying this software and 1000 euros per week from just 15 customers who use Betfair. "
Looks like they are promoting an affiliate scheme. I am just about to set up a scheme for Bet Angel, we have just been wating to get the payment side of things worked through.
IMHO Arb mirage is way too expensive. The next upgrade to Bet Angel will mimic exactly the same features at ArbMirage but also add another layer of functionality. Also, this sort of arbing is no where near as risk free as people imply. I'll try to record a video of the issues when the software is ready for release.

I was in the car and praying for England to win the toss. First time ever I have tuned into the radio to listen to somebody tossing a coin.

It has been raining in this part of the Cotswolds for about an hour - wasn't forecast either. What price the draw now? 3.15 I think I'll have a slice of that, thankyou.

Indeed he is, but the Damien Duff ad has made me wanna change my insurance.
He is a very talented man. Jose is the 'special one' though.

Why no posts on this thread since Thursday. I read with interest before going on course - still find some of it incomprehensible, but I hope some of it is sinking in! H

Hi Helen
Personally having a few days off having taken a hiding on the football midweek and having promised myself i would just watch the final test without trading it. That said i have just laid the draw at 1.5 - a mad price with over 2 1/2 days to go imo.
Just had a look at todays footie and very little appeals, though likely to back Bolton to lay them off tomorrow - 2.04 looks over priced to me.

I'm still trying to get used to fractional odds, so i don't know whether 1.5 is mad or not. Keep converting when I'm on my Will Hill site, but finding it hard to get used to! I do think that laying the draw is a bit rash, though!

Helen
Are you doing the course on 29 Sept? If so I will see you then. Looking forward to it. A few small bets on the premiership today and trying to sort out the mess I've made of the Test Match. LoL :-))

PTH, yes, going on 29th. Still just doing fixed odds, mostly on horses (occasionally golf) and just at 'fun' levels. looking forward to learning more about exchanges after hearing Peter talk at Sunderland. See you on 29th. H
