Easynet (ESY)

proptrade - 22 Jan 2004 11:27

i was wondering if anyone out there had any strong views? this company appears to be delivering and has just turned EBITA positive after a great trading statement last week. seems like upside to +200p once results are out.

any comments or thoughts would be appreciated.

better than the spider i found in my grapes last time i flew BA. i am NOT joking.

i lived abroad for years and few a hell of alot and would go to great lengths and sometimes expense to avoid flying BA. I am British but i have to say that the matrons they have in Business are disasterous when you compare the staff of Singapore Airlines, Virgin and Cathay. even the US guys are getting it right. I wouldn't normally have a rant about this but it brought back an unhappy eight legged memory!

now, i fancy a cuppa...

proptrade - 11 Apr 2005 15:57 - 456 of 602

up a penny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!UP A PENNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i am off to make a second cup, maybe thats where i am going wrong - forget research, make a cup of char!

gavdfc - 11 Apr 2005 16:13 - 457 of 602

Now thats excitement! As to BA, never flew with them but I do like the sound of the scones and tea! Bit of movement here, albeit slight. A few chunky trades and a rollover. Delayed 150k buy at 85 moved the offer up?

Tea theory, beats research any day! :-)))

proptrade - 11 Apr 2005 22:57 - 458 of 602

now i can't sleep...too much tea!

proptrade - 12 Apr 2005 09:12 - 459 of 602

nice opening.

joehargan1 - 12 Apr 2005 10:40 - 460 of 602

....as the actress said to the bishop. Now, turning to ESY, it's clear the scone, jam and tea flyer on BA is having exactly the desired effect. You heard it here first. rgds, joe

proptrade - 12 Apr 2005 11:28 - 461 of 602

you are no longer joe...you are the flying grassroots guru.

anyway, for the record, i thought the bishop said that to the actress! LOL!

joehargan1 - 12 Apr 2005 12:04 - 462 of 602

You are quite right as usual Proptrade.

proptrade - 12 Apr 2005 12:23 - 463 of 602

YOU NEVER KNOW THESE DAYS!

gavdfc - 12 Apr 2005 12:35 - 464 of 602

Nice rise today, maybe I should have a late start every day! The 500k looks like a delayed buy to me also so some decent interest today. Maybe tea theory works! Or perhaps this new buy rating is behind it:

"Dresdner Kleinwort reiterates buy Easynet (ESY.L)."

proptrade - 12 Apr 2005 14:23 - 465 of 602

where was that quoted?

gavdfc - 12 Apr 2005 14:28 - 466 of 602

Found it here http://www.sharecrazy.co.uk/dailies/mmv/index.html

and here

http://uk.biz.yahoo.com/050412/336/fg5f9.html

The second one is really just a rehash of the Sharecrazy page.

cheers sir

mention in the Times that these are rallying because they have lowered their retail prices for ukonline to 9.99. very competitive and after volume. great.

gavdfc - 13 Apr 2005 15:38 - 469 of 602

Yes noticed the 9.99 deal, fantastic value for the customer. Also noticed the adverts for it on this site!

gavdfc - 13 Apr 2005 15:43 - 470 of 602

The are also doing 2MB for 19.99 and 8MB for 29.99. Currently I have 1MB at 25 from Blueyonder, not so good value, but a very good quality.

proptrade - 13 Apr 2005 16:01 - 471 of 602

i know, i am on BT paying the same for 512! wrong price.

ESY will clean up when their marketing gets into gear.

gavdfc - 13 Apr 2005 16:07 - 472 of 602

Just checked on the Ukonline website to see if I can get their service in my area but no such luck. If I remember correctly, the areas they operate in covers about 4 million people. Pity they don't do it up here, maybe one day though as it seems great value. Here's hoping lots of people sign up for it. I started off paying 25 for 512 but Blueyonder moved everyone up to 1mb free of charge. The broadband market seems to be getting much more competitive as more people move over from dial up.

First day that I've seen the adverts for it on this site.

proptrade - 13 Apr 2005 17:11 - 473 of 602

on moneyam?

gavdfc - 13 Apr 2005 17:30 - 474 of 602

Yes, they have an advert down the side of the trades page and also one at the top of the main bulletin board page.
