THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

I for one am fed up of hearing the name Alex Salmond and even more fed up of seeing the idiot on TV... Every time I see him I'm reminded of Mr Potato Head from Toy Storey...

TANKER - 10 Sep 2014 12:25 - 45700 of 81564

I will along with all my family boycott all their scots products IFTHEY VOTE YES

Because of this Scottish referendum thingy, did you know that over the last two months your net worth has probably fallen by about 6%?

That’s assuming your money and assets are based in the UK.

From a mid-July high of £1 = $1.72, sterling slipped below $1.61 yesterday morning.

(Now 100% - 6% = 94%, and so $1.72 x 0.94 = $1.61)

So even if your sterling-denominated assets – your house, your savings, your stocks – haven’t changed in price, they’ve changed in value.

And because of the uncertainty some of the prices have changed too.

Q. And in what direction?
A. Downwards.

The values of our sterling assets are being stuffed!

Eh?

goldfinger - 10 Sep 2014 13:29 - 45703 of 81564

Salmond as one of those types of faces youd like to slap with a kipper.

Barstewards lost me a few bob on the market this week thats for sure.

If they break away you cant blame them with camoron and the posh boys in power, but then again I hope they go bust and have hyper inflation.

Shortie - 10 Sep 2014 14:14 - 45704 of 81564

ExecLine, I'm not following your net worth falling post... I get that the pound has weakened against the dollar but what has that to do with price of my house or savings all valued in pounds.... Are you trying to say that if I valued my net worth in dollars then I'd be worse off due to the shift in exchange? You could also argue that the dollar has strengthen due to conflict around the world which is more likely true..

Shortie - 10 Sep 2014 14:18 - 45705 of 81564

I like the way the media right now is capturing Cameron, every picture shows a worried man, "The PM that lost Scotland", he must be pissed that every picture right now looks like he's shit himself....

The captions could be great, Cameron 'boy George that's a bad one, hope now one notices', Clegg, Miliband 'Jesus David, not again, stiff upper lip, mustn't react'...

Moe, Larry, and Curly

It is good to know Cameron's heart will be broken if Scotland reject England.

With the state of the NHS as it is I hope he doesn't get treatment on it!

VICTIM - 10 Sep 2014 15:38 - 45708 of 81564

It's strange that today Britain & France get powerful EU jobs , the two countries in the last few weeks that are showing a bit of anti Europe feeling.

goldfinger - 10 Sep 2014 15:41 - 45709 of 81564

Fred and I hope he doesnt ever get sick disabled or unemployed, because lets face it this present government have let the welfare of this country go to the dogs ........and more.

Its a major scandal what IDS is getting away with.

And people here , yes on this thread will in time see what I see every weekend in my voulantary capacity.

Its pathetic and heart breaking.

Went to see Matthew Crawley from Downton Abbey' (Dan Stevens) in 'The Guest' last night. This is not the 'Matthew Crawley' we all know. The bloke starring in this film is a different guy completely!

I thought 'The guest' was an excellent film and it held my attention strongly. I even think it may eventually gain a bit of a name for itself in the film history books and get to be considered 'a Classic'.

I also think Stevens will get an Oscar nomination for the way he played his part. His facial expressions were incredible.

Highly recommended! Without giving anything away, here's the trailer:

Do you think he is going to be a bad guy or a good guy?

required field - 10 Sep 2014 21:09 - 45712 of 81564

Got a bet on NO !....better odds than now...

Chris Carson - 10 Sep 2014 21:48 - 45714 of 81564

Fuck all to do with bottle Max! Common sense. Just keep Cameron from opening his mouth and get him sharpish south of the border. Amen :0)

Haystack - 10 Sep 2014 23:03 - 45715 of 81564

An interesting side issue is that the Queen will continue to be Queen of Scotland.

MaxK - 10 Sep 2014 23:35 - 45716 of 81564

They bottled it Chris...all the Braveheart talk was just that, talk!

Mind you, I don't blame the (ordinary) Scots for looking at this in a realistic fashion and deciding it wasn't a very good idea. (common sense as you say)

So what now for Wee Eck, fast forward to the next vote until they get it right?

Chris Carson - 11 Sep 2014 00:41 - 45717 of 81564

We'll Max this Independance shite will never go away. Wee Eck will get a good shafting come the 18th and gf will no doubt keep spouting and my mate Fred will keep the red flag flying but hey, who gives a shit! Up the workers :0)
