Braemore Resources Uses Cutting Edge Technology (BRR)

cynic - 22 Dec 2007 16:27 - 458 of 810

prize for the runner-up could be treating this wizened and acidic old tart to a decent bottle of claret

Toya - 23 Dec 2007 14:00 - 459 of 810

Alex: don't worry, the kids will grow up one of these days, and then you'll be free to wander off as you please.

ptholden - 23 Dec 2007 14:53 - 460 of 810

err, just to clear up any confusion, I will not be attending the AGM, my sole contribution to this thread was predicting the fall to 16p (and trying to wind up Toya) :))

Toya - 23 Dec 2007 17:03 - 461 of 810

Hi pth - and a Merry Christmas to you too :)

oilyrag - 24 Dec 2007 07:24 - 462 of 810

Merry xmas and happy new year everyone.

niceonecyril - 24 Dec 2007 09:22 - 463 of 810

Yes merry christmas to everyone, and hoping BRR makes 2008 a very properous
new year. Noticed we're back up to 20p.

BRR's report rattles on merrily about PMGs as if it were a common acronym and frightfully obvious .... it's not! ...... i would hazard a guess at P(ure) M(etal) G(rades) but can someone please enlighten

Toya - 29 Dec 2007 19:29 - 466 of 810

Evening Cynic: PGM stands for 'platinum group metals'.

From their RNS of 01 November:
Braemore through Independence is implementing plans to evaluate, establish and
operate independent base metals refining facilities for the smelting and
refining of sulphide concentrates containing platinum group metals ('PGM') from
emerging platinum producers in South Africa.

cynic - 29 Dec 2007 19:43 - 467 of 810

what are platinum group metals (PGMs as i always said!)?
did you go to the AGM?
if so, did they have anything interesting to say, like when they hope to start making money? ...... though i know notlob thinks that is a total irrelevance (see VIY thread)
did anything else excite you?

niceonecyril - 29 Dec 2007 21:01 - 468 of 810

Edited better covered by post 470. When clicking on advfn, posts of interest
and relating to AGM are 6883 and 6889 by freedosh.

Thanks for the links Cyril.

Confess I did attend the AGM - and hope this will not have an adverse effect on the sp (see comments on VIY thread).

As I've been busy since, with all kinds of exciting activities (to answer Cynic's Q above), I've not had time to write up my notes and would agree with Cyril that the notes on the link he has posted are a good summary of events.

Cynic: you may well have been hiding in the AGM crowd so I'll leave you to answer your own question re when they might make money.

cynic - 30 Dec 2007 15:01 - 472 of 810

i was more interested to learn whether anything else excited you!
for myself, i had a very exciting and action-packed day, but that is another story!

of more relevance here, and fans of VIY might like to to take note, as far as i have been able to glean, BRR have now jumped all the hurdles put before them, and to time ..... it would seem that in the next few months, BHP are strong odds-on to form some sort of JV with BRR to move forward with the extraction of the valuable minerals from the tailings using the patented and cheap system developed by Atomaer ...... VIY fans will note that this is a significant step from merely being in test and trials etc.

further, BRR reckon they should be a genuinely profitable company within 27/36 months, and regular announcements should be forthcoming in the interim to show how they are progressing towards that important goal - unlike VIY!

Toya - as you were actually at the AGM please correct me if i have misinterpreted or misrepresented anything ..... or, for that matter, if there are some relevant issues that i should have brought to the fore.

Toya - 31 Dec 2007 07:22 - 473 of 810

Sounds to me as though you were at the meeting yourself Cynic - spot on with your remarks.

As for excitement: yes I, too, had a very exciting time once the AGM was out of the way and could not tear myself away from London to come home, hence my lack of notes here (though also laziness since there's a link posted - someone has been more diligent than myself I'm pleased to see).

cynic - 31 Dec 2007 09:15 - 474 of 810

you provincials! .... clearly far too easily seduced ..... the bright lights and fleshpots of the capital obviously have dangerous allure for you innocents

Toya - 31 Dec 2007 09:18 - 475 of 810

Well, I guess some of us are easily led astray...

cynic - 31 Dec 2007 09:34 - 476 of 810

baa baa! .... little lamb to the slaughter were you?

cynic - 31 Dec 2007 11:06 - 477 of 810

in a rash rush of Christmas cheer (Chanukah actually!), i have bought more .... that said, my holding is still only 80% of norm, so not exactly overboard in excitement
