How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?
Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

What a mesmerising game of cricket!
Very green at present but having to sit on my hands to avoid the temptation of nicking a few more trades.

I was at Betfair yesterday and managed to watch the closing stages of the Ashes there. It wasn't only the England cricket team that were celebrating!!
36m traded on the last match is huge!!!

John,
You missed the lot! You'll be hard pressed to see something like this again.
Next time you'll have to plan your holidays around major sporting events.....LOL
Anyway, hope you've had a great time away. Getting back to the serious stuff, Lets grab Steve and arrange a night out. If possible we'll try and sort it out before I go away in Oct.
36m... I must have contributed to that total as I picked up a monster win, my biggest betfair win to date. Last time I had a biggish win I gave most of it back by overtrading afterwards. Won't be doing this again so I think I'll sit on this for at least till tonight!

Compound,
It'll be a while before so many buses come at the same time I think.
Bak,
Your'e right. Next time I'll choose my holiday dates more carefully.
Read through all the posts since I've been away with envy.
Any time for a night out is OK with me. Name the day and I'll be there.

Didn't pick up any prekickoff positions but just scalped a few ticks after Barce scored. I'll probably wait till half time before deciding what to do.

Not traded tonight - doing too well on the poker tables :-)
Got the Arsenal game on - oh dear - down to ten men 0-0 at half time. Price has gone from 1.23 at kick off to 2.28.
Now i know im biased but Arsenal tend to have a good record with ten men and price looks big to me.
Scrip - any thoughts ?

But they have a terrible record in Europe though!
If Arsenal can't win against Thun then some it seriously up but based on the first half performance I don't really have much confidence in there ability to finish Thun off. However 8 shots is not far from the average of ten you need for a goal.
