THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

45596 is absolutely accurate
labour should have been romping away in the polls months ago, albeit that the gap always tightens just prior to "the day"
as it is, labour's lead has been a pathetic 6% for ages and ages, and some would say it's being nibbled even now

goldfinger - 19 Sep 2014 17:09 - 45976 of 81564

Explain then why Camoron against Britains worst ever PM (Brown) didnt get a majority and had to rely on the lib/dems. ????????????????????????????

Cyners just accept it the days of big majoritys are a thing of the past.................unless of course Camoron the crook is trying to orchestrate something out of this vote and pledge.

goldfinger - 19 Sep 2014 17:10 - 45977 of 81564

ps,I wish i was nibbling tess daley.

cynic - 19 Sep 2014 17:19 - 45978 of 81564

oh yawn yawn yawn sticky

only a few days ago i am sure you were prattling about labour achieving an overall majority of 60 seats
but now i think you (or is it fred?) are mumbling about needing a coalition, though i confess i read very little of the political rantings of the pair of you

ExecLine - 19 Sep 2014 17:46 - 45979 of 81564

And guess what?

A. Alex Salmond resigns as Scottish First Minister (in the wake of the 'Yes' defeat and leaving open the chance of another vote for independence under a different SNP leader):

Cynic labour will still win with a majority.

goldfinger - 19 Sep 2014 17:53 - 45981 of 81564

Be a long tome exec before they can get their act together again.

MaxK - 19 Sep 2014 18:13 - 45982 of 81564

Wee-Eck has fallen on his sword ... at least he has some honour (unlike most)

Which leaves the way open for that Sturgeon bint to do a Maggon.

Fred1new - 19 Sep 2014 18:13 - 45983 of 81564

GF,

But it will sure as hell make the London based parties, or elite tread carefully in Scotland, North of England and perhaps even Wales.

cynic - 19 Sep 2014 18:22 - 45984 of 81564

45982 - not quite the rampant crowing of recent weeks is it!

Fred1new - 19 Sep 2014 18:30 - 45985 of 81564

There is something about the UK political scene which remind me of the bodies on stage after a dissolute Shakespearean play.

-------

The devolvement of power to the regions simply provides an extra layer of bureaucracy and jobs for the boys.

Increasing the fragmentation of the UK and increases will be needed to fund the lunacy.

It leads to the development of thiefdoms.

======

Representation of various groups or areas is important, but smashing up the overall unity of the UK does not seem to be it for me.

It is another attempt at dividing, conquering and ruling.

Haystack - 19 Sep 2014 18:44 - 45986 of 81564

I liked the headline, "Smoked Salmond quits*"

cynic - 19 Sep 2014 18:47 - 45987 of 81564

an attempt by whom?
you do love these nonsense conspiracies or making up some other silly scenario of skullduggery

MaxK - 19 Sep 2014 18:50 - 45988 of 81564

The sprouts!

Fred1new - 19 Sep 2014 20:08 - 45990 of 81564

Manuel,

Are you hoping for a job?

Fred1new - 19 Sep 2014 20:09 - 45991 of 81564

Haze,

If you believe that you are a bigger fool than I thought you were!

MaxK - 19 Sep 2014 20:57 - 45992 of 81564

Yes, he wont go quietly into the night.

Fred1new - 19 Sep 2014 22:00 - 45993 of 81564

He is a very shrewd cookie.

Wait for the Return of Alec.

What interests me is the effect of the "yes" group on the labour vote at the G/E.

---------

If you haven't already listen to Any Questions to-night it was well worth the listen.

One of the more sensible summaries of the present "political" situation.

Even Charles Clarke and Ken Clarke were often talking senses. Made the present government look like school boys.

Mind Manuel would be happy to carry the latter's bags.

cynic - 19 Sep 2014 22:06 - 45994 of 81564

as i'm up in london for the w/e for Beloved's 60th b'day bash, i have little idea what you're talking about

however, i also wonder what impact snp (i guess) will have on the labour vote in scotland
