I think that Merlin's got something to say about your trading, mg. Well done.

:o)

HelenW - 27 Oct 2005 08:46 - 4602 of 11056

Hear! hear! Merlin Well Done MG

mg - 27 Oct 2005 09:57 - 4603 of 11056

Well, laydees - just cashed in my longs for +90 and +85 ..... a whopping net +175 and it isn't even luch time.

No more for me today - I'm gonna rest on my laurels - feeling all smug having recovered from getting pretty angry with myself.

Thank you Merlin ;)

Bobcolby - 27 Oct 2005 10:31 - 4604 of 11056

Well done MG. I was wondering if you had taken profits. I got up too late this morning and missed all the action:-)

STORMCALLER - 27 Oct 2005 12:54 - 4605 of 11056

I've got a bit confused now, the oft proven STORMCALLER theory that it is impossible to make a profit on cable has developed a small leak....I've just closed a cable short for +30..:-))

Now if only I could remember how it was done...lol

Edit
Was a bit short of time when I posted this
Opened short @ 890, closed @ 860

STORMCALLER - 27 Oct 2005 14:24 - 4606 of 11056

It seems there may be more flaws in this theory than I had initially realised, just closed cable long for +31...:-))

Closed this one @ 92, chart said reverse it.....lacked the courage!

Edit

Opened long @ 862, closed @ 893

STORMCALLER - 27 Oct 2005 16:10 - 4607 of 11056

Couldn't resist second invite to short off resistance, now closed 3rd trade of the day for +51
That makes 100+ for the day, and therefore the best I can recall.
Am seriously chuffed...:-)))

Better go and do some work now...lol

Great stuff fellas :))

Yep, mg - I got that ;)

STORMCALLER - 28 Oct 2005 00:03 - 4609 of 11056

chocolat,
Seems you did well also??
Hope so anyway..:-))

Tried a couple more when I got home from work, but went nowhere, 2 round trips on cable net -11
But I don't care, 'cos it's still over a ton for the day...:-)
(just..lol )

mg - 28 Oct 2005 13:59 - 4610 of 11056

:) shorts from 1.7850, 7842 and 7835 just closed.

Now flat but have orders in to buy longs @ 1.7760 and, if that's too early 1.7710. Stops on both.

Been a great week (after a crappy start) so no more unless they trigger.

Bobcolby - 28 Oct 2005 14:09 - 4611 of 11056

Good trading MG

I am still long @ 1.7852 from yesterday. Its getting a bit iffy but will hang in till around 740 :-(

mg - 28 Oct 2005 16:18 - 4612 of 11056

Just got back in to find that long from 1.7760 has triggered - not sure about that - but it is just below the bottom of a support line I've been running - the other one is around 1.7700 - hence the other order to buy. Might look to get out for a few (if possible) rather than drag this week's average down - I'll give it an hour or so ;)

Bob
That looks like a nasty position at the moment - let's hope that 7770ish was a real support - otherwise we're both fooked ;(

mg - 28 Oct 2005 16:36 - 4613 of 11056

Well, that was a nice end to the week - no heroics - taken 1.7800 for 40 unexpected points.

I'm gonna have a nice bottle of red vino now to celebrate my recovery and return to sensible trading - I'm a happy chappy :)

PS - still got that 1.7710 sitting there - just in case !!!

Bobcolby - 28 Oct 2005 17:19 - 4614 of 11056

Just chickened out @ 1,7772

MG Will be joining you in a bottle of red but mine will be to drown my sorrows

C'est le guerre. :-)

mg - 28 Oct 2005 17:23 - 4615 of 11056

If anyone is interested, these are the 2 "master" screens I've been working off - trading using a 5 minute screen to position against "contrary" movements. What is very interesting - and the reason I was wrong footed the other day - is that the 4 hour MACD seems to have made an important move downwards. It means I shouldn't really have that 1.7710 position in there ready to trigger - so I may pull it.

Hope it helps to explain the way I've been trading this last week - but is not intended to be advice - NFAG, DYOFR - things go up, down, sideways and I am not suggesting anyone uses these for their trading. They proved useful to me - and that's the only reason I'm posting them :)

Bobcolby - 28 Oct 2005 17:26 - 4616 of 11056

MG cant open your screens, just see the little box with x

Bobcolby - 28 Oct 2005 17:28 - 4617 of 11056

MG ignore previous, got them with IE

Thanks fr info. Have a nice weekend

mg - 31 Oct 2005 08:46 - 4618 of 11056

Well, I pulled th 7710 - but it didn't get there anyway. Shame because the 1 hour MACD has turned back up and would have given some good points. I've got a couple of hours so I'll be looking to long any fall-backs - 'cos I reckon 7900 is there to be bust on this hourly move - BUT I'm still wary of that 4 hour trend.

So, on the one hand it's a long and on the other it's a short :)

mg - 31 Oct 2005 09:08 - 4619 of 11056

High risk strategy - short from 1.7815 - hopefully back down to around 1.7750 - but not very confident :(

chocolat - 31 Oct 2005 10:03 - 4620 of 11056

Reversed long Friday evening 1.7735 and then spooked myself out of it last night. Got back in shortly after though, same level, when it bottomed at 1.7720 (still a nice number) and still hanging in a while :S
