THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Some utter rubbish being spouted on this thread about the Scots by posters who don't have a clue. There will not be rioting in Scotland and it's because Cameron cares about what the Scots think that he came up with the last minute 'bribe' in an effort to swing the vote !

goldfinger - 21 Sep 2014 16:54 - 46038 of 81564

Well thats strange because thier as been rioting in Glasgow according to the National press. Yes your right doodles you dont have a clue.

Clutching at straws again. That report was about a punch up on Friday night in Glasgow after the referendum. Both sides had been drinking heavily. There has been no trouble since. Nothing to riot about.

cynic - 21 Sep 2014 17:19 - 46040 of 81564

as is usual none of you has any idea at all of the final effect of this referendum .... nor indeed do any of the so-called experts, which is not an epithet that can be remotely applied to any of you guys

doodlebug4 - 21 Sep 2014 17:22 - 46041 of 81564

Rioting gf? You mean rioting like we have witnessed in England in recent years with shops and houses torched and rampant looting going on? Six people arrested - lol.

goldfinger - 21 Sep 2014 17:49 - 46042 of 81564

It was reported as rioting doodles, it was rioting and you said quite clearly "There will not be rioting in Scotland"......their as been rioting. Couldnt be clearer and just because old doderer Hays as got it completly wrong YET AGAIN doesnt mean he is right.

You want to be careful or youl be put in the same boat as that chap.

You do have brains, he just as fresh air between his ears.

Twitter was full of it friday night the establishment has kept a lid on it for obvious reasons.

A few pub fights my ass. It was chaotic at one point in that square, you should have seen the amaetur photo footage.

doodlebug4 - 21 Sep 2014 18:24 - 46043 of 81564

There has been this so-called 'rioting' in Glasgow every Friday and Saturday night for about 100 years, usually between Rangers and Celtic supporters. It's a typical media hyped story based on a few little skirmishes and typical of some sections of the press in this country who were no doubt hoping for a full scale riot in order to portray the Scots as a country of hooligans.

hilary - 21 Sep 2014 18:44 - 46044 of 81564

Fishfinger,

Would I be right in thinking from previous postings that you don't like the X-Factor? Worra cracking singer Chloe-Jasmine is!!!

goldfinger - 21 Sep 2014 18:52 - 46045 of 81564

Doodles I know all about that, ive been up there and in the action when its started.

It doesnt though go on for 6 hours into the night though, so you can fudge as much as you want but I know the crack.

goldfinger - 21 Sep 2014 18:59 - 46046 of 81564

Come on whats the outa here is she a relation ...... freind or what??????? surely not daughter???

Sat night we should be like rest of Europe Football Live, and cricket during summer.

I kid you not, I down a few more pints than normal sat afternoon so I can miss it all asleep.

cynic - 21 Sep 2014 19:03 - 46047 of 81564

a fine example to set young kids! :-)

Haystack - 21 Sep 2014 19:54 - 46048 of 81564

Not a riot. It was caused by NO voters waving Union Jacks.

doodlebug4 - 21 Sep 2014 19:56 - 46049 of 81564

Lol gf, Glasgow is not the only town in Scotland. How much so-called rioting has there been in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Dundee over the last few nights? If there was rioting in Glasgow then why were there no extra rioting police called in? Far from knowing the crack you are far removed from reality and just trying to divert attention from the fact that Miliband is in a messy situation.:-)

MaxK - 21 Sep 2014 20:17 - 46050 of 81564

No Riot on Saturday night .... shock horror!

Police baffled!

Does not sell newspapers.

Haystack - 21 Sep 2014 20:30 - 46051 of 81564

Maybe there will be a riot at the Labour Party Conference.

cynic - 21 Sep 2014 20:33 - 46052 of 81564

crack is what a navvy's trousers reveal

craic is the word you are looking for, though it is really (adopted) irish gaelic so unlikely to be appreciated by patriotic scots!

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/labour-must-reconnect-with-english-identity-and-avoid-west-lothian-rebellion-ed-miliband-told-9747288.html

Ed Miliband faces a growing Labour rebellion against his opposition to David Cameron’s plan to bring in “English votes for English laws.”
Several Labour MPs from English constituencies fear the party will suffer a backlash from the public at next May’s general election if it does not agree to dilute the voting power of Scottish MPs at Westminster. The Labour leadership fears this could cripple a future Labour government. It could fail to get its laws approved by the Commons without its large block of MPs from Scotland, where it won 41 of the 59 seats at the 2010 election.

Kate Hoey, a Labour MP and former Sports Minister, said Labour must do the right thing for the country even if that disadvantaged the party in the short-term.
......

She said several Labour MPs shared her view but would not speak out until after this week’s Labour conference. Critics of Mr Miliband’s line are said to include some members of his Shadow Cabinet.

John Denham, Mr Miliband’s former parliamentary aide, said “the English question must be settled” along with Scotland’s extra powers and questioned the Labour leader’s call for the two issues to be handled at different speeds. Writing on the LabourList website, Mr Denham said: “Settling the English question cannot be on a different timetable to the delivery of enhanced powers for the Scottish Parliament. It may not be possible to do this in the same piece of legislation but the implementation of new decision-making arrangements should be across the UK.”

MaxK - 21 Sep 2014 20:40 - 46054 of 81564

The Labour party do good riot!

cynic - 21 Sep 2014 22:33 - 46055 of 81564

MaxK - 21 Sep 2014 22:33 - 46056 of 81564
