Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

Ed Miliband is giving his keynote speech at the Lab conference today. That should be a riot. It is regarded as a make or break speech for him.

the government should put a tax on their products at point of sale . so the person buying will look at the extra cost buying from a tax fiddling company

Manuel,
I think you have the views of a blind man looking at a picture!
======
Taxation has to be reformed internationally and nationally.
I think that the taxation system in the UK is too complex and need to be simplified.
------
I think many in the city see of think that the EU will move to address some of the problems and also examine the transfer of "honest" money across the zone and attempt to deal with off shore tax havens,
Due to a large amount of the money movement "paper" money it may be simpler that it appears.
If the computerise “identity card" project had not been scrapped it would have enabled the tracing of funds more easily.
(Before you dismiss the latter, try an engage a few of the grey cells you have left.)
One of the reasons it was scrapped.

I wonder how Osborne will explain his latest success!
Public borrowing at £11.6bn in August
Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne outside Number 11 Downing Street
Government borrowing is more than 6% higher than at the same time a year ago, official figures have shown
C
The Office of National Statistics (ONS) said public sector net borrowing stood at £11.6bn last month.
Total borrowing for this year stands at £45.4bn, some 6.2% higher than at the same time a year earlier.

fred its the Tax take, Osbourne is not recovering enough tax hence the increase in borrowing. Reasons...........1. LOW WAGES. 2. Tax Avoidance 3. Tax Evasion 4. Multi Nationals increasingly getting away with not paying tax and osbourne turning a blind eye. Beggars belief that we are supposed to have lowered unemployment and have a booming economy but he is having to borrow more. Just goes to show its one almighty CON JOB.

The leaked speech from Miliband is going to put forward a 10 year plan to mend the UK. It does sound a bit like the communist era 10 year plans that were set in stone and could not be changed to match world events. He clearly expects two terms of 5 years. I really can't see the public taking the 10 year choice when they don't trust Labour with the economy. Voters tend to have shorter horizons. Hopefully, Osborne will hand out a few bribes in the budget. Ten years gives Labour time to start out as a tax and spend party and make the transition to borrow and spend.

Most of the immigrants I ever meet are extremely hard working people and want to do better for themselves and their wives/husbands and families. They have often worked hard at school and have even bothered to learn to read and write in a foreign language - English - which isn't easy (some on here even have great difficulty doing it).
The UK has lots to offer hard working people. We treat everyone very fairly and one can speak one's mind, criticise the goverment, criticise religion. In fact, you can be critical of anything - all without getting into trouble. I admire them greatly for getting of their backsides and coming over here to try to better themselves and their lot.
I am not 'anti' hard working immigrants at all. In fact, i would welcome more of them. They and their type can only benefit this country.
But I am 'anti' lazy, mostly heavily tattooed layabouts, who think the world owes them a living, as well as free hand outs to fund their cigarettes and binge drinking habits. Without labouring the point, I'm sure you know the sort of scum bags I mean?
The immigrants I meet quite a lot, work in lower paid jobs like car cleaning pitches, the fruit and veg market, they wait on in restaurants, they staff the check outs at supermarkets, they work in the building trade as electricians, brick layers, carpenters, plasterers. They just WORK, WORK, WORK.
