VICTORY 1-21 SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED
Meridian, the oil & gas exploration and production company with key assets in
the USA and Australia today announced that the Victory 1-21 production well (10%
WI) has been successfully deepened in order to further penetrate a Niagaran
reef.
Using a coiled tubing unit and conventional work over rig, Total Depth was
reached at 4,394 feet and gas communication was made between 4,161 feet and
4,192 feet, an increase of approximately 31 feet in net pay. The well was
treated with acid to stimulate flow and is currently being swabbed to remove
remaining acid from the well bore following which the well will be put back on
line this week. It is anticipated that enhanced production rates will be gained
from the additional pay sections in the reservoir.
Anthony Mason, Chief Executive of Meridian said:
'The successful deepening of Victory 1-21 is good news for Meridian. The well
will be back on line this week, following which Meridian will resume receiving
income from Victory 1-21. We are now looking forward to the imminent completion
on Calvin 36.'

m12rtn,
Don't forget Tm and his ex wife own 24%!
required field,
There are a LOT of people that would not be pleased at a high teens bid, many are holders from much higher up.
I personally think 15p would do it, but IF there is more than one bidder, it may go a little higher.

15p would result in a small loss for me. I see this one dragging on and with a gradual but small drop in SP. Time for me then to buy more in order to reduce cost of my average holding.

Must be some half decent news about to come out, maybe today or Monday.
Milford update must be the most likely news now that the sulfatreat change over is complete. According to the RNS the crew was going to move onto Milford after this was completed and Orion back up to full flow. The cash is still rolling in at $1mill a month and the gas prices looking to hold up for a while yet!

Correct. Milford underway and gas price in excess of $9 is good news for MRP. Mind you, the oil price could be equally of interest with regard to Milford.

Be interesting to see what oil there is at Milford and flow rates,so long as it does'nt cause problems.

Orion Production Update
Meridian Petroleum plc (AIM: MRP), the US-focused oil and gas company, announces
that its Orion 36 well in Michigan achieved new gas production records in
February for both the daily rate and the daily average for the month as a whole.
A new record daily production rate of 4.18mmcfd was achieved on 29 February.
Monthly production for February totalled over 108mmcf at an average daily rate
of 3.73mmcfd, the highest monthly average since production began in August last
year. Production of natural gas liquids during the month averaged 55bbls/day.
Operational performance was exceptional with less than 12 hours downtime in the
whole month, continuing on from the previous month's strong performance.
During February, the Company successfully completed a change-out on one of the
two Sulfatreat treatment towers. Operational experience has confirmed that with
the installation of the polishing sponge, each tower is now individually able to
process over 200mmcf of gas before a change-out is needed. During the February
change-out there were approximately 100 odour complaints early in the process,
however Meridian worked closely with the Michigan authorities and took
precautions to ensure that no further problems occurred.
Stephen Gutteridge, Chairman, said:
'We have enjoyed an excellent start to 2008 with two months of very strong
performance from Orion. We have always emphasised the importance of safety and
the environment in our operations and I am pleased that we are receiving good
feedback from the Michigan authorities on the quality of the Orion operation.
The Sulfatreat changes can result in odours escaping, and we are continuing our
efforts to minimise future inconvenience to the local community and to help in
their understanding of our business.'
Ed Childers, the Company's Chief Operating Officer, who meets the criteria of a
qualified person under the AIM guidance note for mining, oil and gas companies,
has reviewed and approved the technical information contained in this
announcement.

How is this made up?
Is it 108mmcf * $9 = $972k *75% = $731k
What is the value of the natural gas liquids 55bbls/day*29 *$?? *75% = $??
Does anyone know what monthly expenditure is currently?
Many thanks.

108mmcf * $9 = $972,000 * 75% = $729,000
55 bbl condensate * $65 * 29 * 75% = $77,750
Total = $806,750.

Around $918,000 for gas in February, plus of course liquids at 55bls a day for even 28 days gives 1540 boe, at what $60=$92,400+approx. $918,000 still makes it $1m a month gross.
