It started way back January this year and I had an extra fan fitted which seemed to cure it but since last weekend when the weather became summer it has become almost nonstop.
Have Mcafee firewall and virus scan which I run regularly and indeed have run again this morning with nothing detected.
Thanks for your imput.

P,
Greystone also used a vacuum to clean out the filters.

Which filters do you mean.

The filters around the fans.
They clog up badly and reduce the effectiveness of the fans.

Is there a fan on the processor chip. If it has stopped working then that may cause it. On my BIOS setup there are settings as to what temp the alarm goes off and it shows me the current temp.

Just an update on yesterday's wireless router/modem problem.
As i could connect wirelessly but not through ethernet cable, i ordered
a wireless pci adaptor from Dabs which arrived in the post this am, excellent
service.
We are now up and running connected wirelessly, so fault was in ethernet
part of router, the problem now is although its still under warrenty i'm
stuck without it while its repaired or replaced, hmmm.

CloudB,
Why not stay wireless until you take a holiday and don't need the router for a few days?

TP, staying wireless for now is one option to look at.
It also appears to be faster than the ethernet access, so may just stay
wireless, will need to purchase another pci card but at 20 not a vast expence.

CB,
I bought one of these jobbies.
http://www.broadbandbuyer.co.uk/Shop/ShopDetail.asp?ProductID=3020
These guys are out of stock, but they are available somewhere as they did find one for me.
It is sensitive and works through the USB. I use it to piggyback on someone else's WiFi in my photographic studio and I've used it in the office when our broadband died and I had to rely on BT Openzone.
Probably overkill for you, but thought it was worth a mention.

MB,
I'd guess you use whatever mail sender/receiver you want, but configure it for the 3G settings the card and provider expect.
With my O2 GPRS I use both Virtual Access and nPOP which are simply mail progs. But each is set to relate to the O2 needs.

As MM says you can POP from different computers but your messages will end up being downloaded to the computer you're on at the time. If you don't like that you can set the option on one of the computers to read the message but not delete it from the POP3 server so that it will still be accessible from the other computer.
