Sorry to disagree.
November:1983 Microsoft unveils Microsoft Windows, a variation of the MS-DOS operating system that lets users have multiple unrelated programs open at once by employing a window system. A user could also transfer data rom one application program to another.

At the end of the day the definition of a penny share is an interpretation of one punter, or many, what I was trying to get Sequestor head round was that the sp can go any where it wants to go if some one is willing to pay that price, even 25

Sequestor - 23 May 2005 14:58 - 4642 of 27111

superrodd ,
this is becoming embarassing- again we agree, well nearly
the end of the world is nigh-repent!!!!!

lol

driver, you must believe what you believe, you are mixing up nominal figures and THE REAL share price, I have to say I never saw Unilever in The Penny Share Guide,or BT, OR SHELL, OR BP ,etc. etc.

Penny shares, meaning companies whose share prices are below about 1, are not necessarily companies with small market caps, but often they are. They are worth mentioning briefly in this tutorial because:
investors often mistakenly equate penny shares with small caps
investors often mistakenly assume that because a share price is low, the shares are cheap
penny shares are often presented as high growth companies and treated by
penny shares are volatile
Richard Koch, author of Selecting Shares that Perform, says:
"Most penny shares are low quality, illiquid, expensive to buy or sell, and highly speculative. Many are in companies run by people of dubious repute. Some just represent the last resting place of once great companies before their formal burial."
Not a fan then.

Like I said interpretation, you say less than a 1 they say 50p I say who care's. I got this from financeglossary.com

Penny Share

The term usually applied to companies whose shares have a very low price, normally under 50p per share. Companies whose shares have speculative appeal, represent greater risk and are often issued by former, high riding companies, now deemed to be on harder times.

Harder times, That cant be SEO then. So SEO isnt a penny share after all.

Sequestor - 23 May 2005 15:32 - 4650 of 27111

driver- they had it in 1970 odd,Penny Share Paper- I used it until I realised that Polly Peck, wasn`t a woman with a Crystal Ball making everyone millions, have to say it was more fun in those days without all the regulations, I reckon the boys in charge of Penny Shareds Mag. stuck a pin in the FT ,picked any penny share and bgt. loads Friday p.m.- sent out the letters and cashed in by Monday lunch, I know I did.
Not too many poeople outside The City had a/c `s in those days, a mate of mine worked as an accountant, his practise had the ` 70`s high tech. gear- ( called a telephone account-lol) and we used their broker. We cleaned up for a while `til Polly Peck floored us,

g`luck, this friggin` hedge needs work again

bosley - 23 May 2005 15:59 - 4651 of 27111

if it ends in p, then by my reckoning , it's a penny share!! if it starts with , then it's not!! how bleeding hard was that!!!? blimey , sequestor , you've been around the block a few times!! what's a guy your age doing playing with sharp instruments, trimming what must be a very big hedge considering how long you are spending on it? :)

superrod - 23 May 2005 16:00 - 4652 of 27111

batten down guys. looks like sh*t and fans about to collide.

Sequestor - 23 May 2005 16:11 - 4654 of 27111

tough as old boots I am bos` ex-para, ex-miner,ex- co. director, ex-husband,ex-dividend, ex most things now-lol,

the hedge is 5m high and about 150 m. perimeter, and I`m working off a step ladder, every 1/2 hr. it pees down, and the bit i`m under is below an elec. cable, hence the pauses.
Like your idea of a penny share- just type in SHEL on stockwatch- see that price-477p, must be a penny share then??

superrod - 23 May 2005 16:13 - 4655 of 27111
