jeffmack - 09 Mar 2004 19:58 - 4648 of 23498

Socco
A few people auctioning their houses/flats for the Cheltenham festival on E.Bay. 2 Bed flat on there for 3,000

Socrates - 09 Mar 2004 20:14 - 4649 of 23498

Jeffmack
That's right, I'll stay at Mrs Miggins B & B for 10 a day and bank the profits.

8 Ball - 09 Mar 2004 22:34 - 4650 of 23498

You can also buy a jockey on e bay for 2,000.

snoball - 10 Mar 2004 10:09 - 4651 of 23498

Is that all?

stockbunny - 10 Mar 2004 11:53 - 4652 of 23498

Oh it's cold out there!! Cold enough to freeze the (whatevers)
off a (whatever)

So I have got a pot of home-made chicken soup on the go
in the kitchen and some jacket tatties and pies in the oven
well there's not much in the kitchen currently with GD away..
Also a steamed chocolate pudding on the back burner with
a jug of hot custard (sorry, instant Birds stuff only)
in the second oven....
Tuck in and grab a seat by the fire - well done Snoball for
getting the fire going earlier today!!

Socs!! Looks like you and me had better organise a shopping list
to keep us going until GD's back..
All suggestions welcome by the way, but we may have to vet them..
((This-Is-Me forget the rabbit pies and stew cos it ain't gonna happen!!))

snoball - 10 Mar 2004 16:45 - 4653 of 23498

yum, yum! chicken soup and pies. Pity about the custard - choc pudding good with ice cream too.

Socrates - 10 Mar 2004 17:10 - 4654 of 23498

If I'm doing some of the catering there will have to be a standing order with Dominos Pizza, (DOM) hype hype, ramp ramp. Well I have got it in the share game after all.

This_is_me - 10 Mar 2004 18:33 - 4655 of 23498

I hear that you can now hire a jump jockey for the flat season!

Chasing rabbits?

Golddog - 10 Mar 2004 23:05 - 4659 of 23498

I did not find any rabbits!

Bunny, Thanks for keeping the kitchen going with the help of Uncle Socks. I may promote you to Head Chef. Just don't fall into the cooking pot or Tim and snoball will have you for lunch.
:-)

Jeffmack, Would you like to help me with the Horse racing game by selecting a race each week (race on a saturday)and posting on here a day or two before with the relevant info (Horse name, jockey and odds) and i will do the rest? If not anyone else or i will do it myself.

jeffmack - 10 Mar 2004 23:47 - 4660 of 23498

GD
OK, no probs. Best to post on a friday then you know most of them will run.

Socrates - 10 Mar 2004 23:59 - 4661 of 23498

Hi GD and all you lovely people. Sorry I've been quiet but after seeing that prog on the beeb tonight I thought I'd install a large water tank out back and a solid fuel AGA in the kitchen. That way if the eccentricity packs up we can still have water, cook and keep warm. Can't take too much care these days.

Next thing is to buy a standby generator for home.

How's everyones shares doing, NIS still going strong and into the FTSE 350, PTG promoted to Small Cap but still keeping everyone guessing. What will tomorrow bring? Just can't wait, so it's off up the wooden hill to Bedfordshire for me. Goodnight.

[:-)

jeffmack - 11 Mar 2004 13:54 - 4662 of 23498

Bad day for shares and Socs Pension.

This_is_me - 11 Mar 2004 14:37 - 4663 of 23498

Yes, the only one of my holdings that is not in the red today is SIR and it is green, although I am only down by the same % as the FTSE. I think the MMs just marked everything down to protect themselves after yesterday in the USA. SIR has done well to stay in the green today since it is a software company and all the tech stocks have done badly today.

snoball - 11 Mar 2004 14:41 - 4664 of 23498

God help you Socs if your eccentricity packs up.
It happened to me many years ago and life hasn't been the same since.

Gd, I have never expressed a predilection (sp?) for eating bunny rabbits.
Welcome back.

Socrates - 11 Mar 2004 18:09 - 4665 of 23498

Hello all, I'm not late really. I've been sweeping the chimney so the new Aga works properly. Next time GD goes on an expedition perhaps he would bring back a sack or two of logs for the cooker.

Bad day today, both for the human race and for my shares, BT was my only blue sky in amongst a sea of red.

This_is_me - 11 Mar 2004 21:22 - 4666 of 23498

We will have to start using the cheaper cuts of rabbit for the pie to keep the prices down if the market tanks.
