Labour is heading for a “comfortable majority” at the UK general election as the Conservatives have lost a third of their support and are only attracting a small number of new voters, polling by former Conservative donor Lord Ashcroft has suggested.

His analysis found the Conservatives can afford to lose no more than 22 seats to Labour but are trailing in 24 seats at the moment.

The detailed polling of marginal seats indicated that both Tories and Labour may each take eight seats off the Liberal Democrats, while two Conservative seats could fall to Ukip.

The rest are a battle between the two main parties that Labour is on course to win, it found.

The statistics said just 63% of the people who voted Conservative in 2010 are still planning to vote for the party and half of those have gone to Ukip.

Ashcroft, deputy chairman of the Conservative party from 2005 until 2010, said all the “waffle” from Conservative party central office about Europe and building new homes for first time-buyers would not do any good, arguing that the only way the Tories could win was to throw all their efforts and money into good candidates in marginal seats.

His position was challenged by Chris Grayling, the justice secretary, who said the Conservatives had a “bumpy ride ahead” but he was sure the party would win based on greater confidence in the prime minister, David Cameron, to run the economy.

Finally the weekly YouGov poll for the Sunday Times has toplines of CON 31%, LAB 36%, LDEM 6%, UKIP 15%, GRN 6%. While some other pollsters have already shown the Greens in fourth place, this is the first time that YouGov have shown them catching the Liberal Democrats.

Some reckon, that some of Tenerife could fall into the sea one day. They say, that if it ever did, it would swamp the East Coast of the USA with a phenominally massive Tsunami tidal wave.

When you drive up Mt Teide to the present summit, you pass through a massive valley beneath the peak. This used to be the old crater and it is truly massive! Look at it here where you can check it out relative to the size of the rest of the island:



Because you can now see Mt Teide has, what looks like a typical volcano mountain with a flat 'crater-type' top top, you tend to just accept that this is the volcano.

Well it is now. But it wasn't always like that. Here's what happened:

I still like Tenerife and have been many times. There are only 5 sunny periods per year though. Each one lasts about 7 months. :-)

It can be seen what some "senior" tory party figures expect from their MPs is blind allegiance and also see what is expected by them of conservative female party young worker!


I must admit listening to ShappS and Osborne's "speeches" they remind me of the comment "the longest suicide note in history"!

As said before, when Cameron and Osborne are working for labour, the labour party can sit back quietly and rest and let the con"leaders" get on with their self -destruction.
