<>Desire Petroleum plc (Desire) is a UK company listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) dedicated to exploring for oil and gas in the North Falkland Basin.

Desire has recently completed a 6 well exploration programme. The Liz well encountered dry gas and gas condensate at 2 separate levels while other wells recorded shows.
Together with the Rockhopper Exploration Sea Lion oil discovery in the licence to the north, these wells have provided significant encouragement for the potential of the North Falkland Basin. The oil at Sea Lion is of particular interest as this has demonstrated that oil is trapped in potentially significant quantities in a fan sandstone on the east flank of the basin. It is believed that over 50% of this east flank play fairway is on Desire operated acreage.

Desire has now completed new 3D seismic acquisition which provides coverage over the east flank play, Ann, Pam and Helen prospects. The results from fast-track processing of priority areas are provided in the 2011 CPR. A farm-out to Rockhopper has been announced. CANADIAN PARLIAMENTARY DELEGATION IN BUSY FALKLANDS VISIT

Four Canadian Parliamentarians, two MPs and two Senators, will be visiting the Falklands from the15th to the 22nd of January 2005. Senator Consiglio Di Nino, Conservative, Senator Elizabeth Hubley, Liberal, Mr. John Maloney, MP, and Ms. Sarmite E. Bulte, MP, will arrive on Saturdays LAN flight and will be met by Cllr. Richard Cockwell and Cllr. John Birmingham. On Sunday the Parliamentarians will travel overland to Long Island Farm, where Neil and Glenda Watson will host them. Individual hosts will entertain them for Dinner. On Monday they will have a Government Briefing at the ARGOS Boardroom and continue to use the Boardroom throughout the day for other meetings with Councillors. In the evening, the delegation will attend a dinner hosted by the Falkland Islands Chamber of Commerce and the Falkland Islands Chamber of Commerce.



On Tuesday the Parliamentarians will tour the Fisheries Department, Agriculture and Mineral Resources Departments and the Education Department and schools. Dinner will be at Government House with H.E. the Governor Mr Pearce and Mrs. Pearce. Wednesdays highlight will be a trip to see the wildlife at Sea Lion Island. In the Afternoon the delegation will arrive at Goose Green where they will visit the Aquaculture projects run by Simon Hardcastle. After Lunch at Darwin House they will visit the Argentine War Memorial and lay a wreath.



On Friday the delegation will lay a wreath at the 1982 War Memorial in Stanley and tour the Museum and Cartmell House. After the press conference at the Upland Goose Hotel the delegation will have some free time before a farewell dinner hosted by Legislative Councillors at the Malvina House Hotel. The Canadian Parliamentarians depart the Falklands on Saturday, 23 January 2005.

To be honest I never thought that TA would be much use for a news drivn(or lack of) share like DES. and as there are so many different parameters people use, I have always been a sceptic. but your analysis has definately been interesting, and accomapnied with an explanation (which is the bit i need). So thanks & keep it coming.

Marky how can you say Ecana is 100%. That is powefull talking,as far as i am aware there is only coicidence and specualation linking Ecana with Rockhopper. Where is the link with DES and How are you sure its 100%? Don't get me wrong, I like what your saying and I respect your opinions.
but yesterday on ADVFN it was Shell are the farm-in partner (singular) from unnamed sources, you know the usual bb shite.

Hi Jon ,

Its a very good parrot I have with in the walls of the bigger picture Capt Guns is the only person who knows the name of this parrot and I would think Capt as a respected person could vouch as to how high he is.

Jon maybe have a closer look at Rockhopper to see a bigger picture there was some news from them today in which I have sent to certain people today and will post up on here in the next couple of days or on iii site if no press from it , maybe thats why JP bought back in again today.

Encana my parrot thought they would be one of the potential partners with Desire and then you have all the links to Encana from Rockhopper or Crude oil just look at the Canadian party over in the Falklands I dont think they are interested in the wild life do you.

your comments regarding eddies charting skills are correct he really does appear to have his finger on the pulse. It was a good call in terms of the resistance at 61p. I incorrectly thought I would pick up stock at 60p this afternoon. Never mind in view of markymars knowledge I'm definately in tomorrow, up or down.(Hope its not to late)

Hi all

Tading today, not very much volume. As you can see from the intraday chart DES opend at 0.615p traded down to 0.6125p by 08:15. Between 08:15 - 08:30 DES traded down to 0.61p the bulls pushed DES back up to 0.62p. By 10:15 DES was back to 0.615p. There was no change then untill 13:15 when DES went back up to 0.615p. The bears were in again sending DES down to 0.605p, the bulls managed to push des back to 0.61p. The next session started at 0.615p. No change between 13:45 - 14:00. The next session opend at 0.615p then went up to 0.62p. There was no change between 14:30 - 16:30. The chart bellow is intraday.



Looking at a longer time period we can see the main trend is up so it wouldn't realy matter when you get in. The candles have just gone through the 10 day moving average so it could be a good time to buy. The candles are likley to go back above the 10 DMA, They may settle at 0.65p before attempting the 0.70p. But if we get news 0.70p & above shouldn't be a problem. It looks like 101p will be the resistance after 0.70p. This is quite a big move so it appears the market is weighing up the next move. Which I have no doubt it will be up. So think would you rather wait in hope, of DES giong back to 0.60p to buy or would benifit from getting in sooner ? The figures above are near as dam it. Let the trend be your freind. It wasn,t that long ago DES was at 0.10p.

A New UK-based oil exploration and production company, Rockhopper Exploration, has named well-known industry figure Pierre Jungels as executive chairman.

He is non-executive chairman of Offshore Hydrocarbon Mapping of Aberdeen, and also holds non-executive roles at Woodside Petroleum, Offshore Logistics and Imperial Tobacco.

Rockhopper announced in December that the Falkland Islands government had awarded it two exploration/production licences in the North Falkland Basin, covering an area of 4,203sq km.

Richard Visick, executive director of Rockhopper, said: "We are delighted that Pierre has agreed to join the company. With his vast experience of the oil industry at the highest level in the UK and internationally, Pierre brings enormous expertise to Rockhopper. His appointment forms a key part of our plans as we put together a highly-experienced management team to take the company forward and progress our work programme for the licences."

Mr Jungels, a former chief executive of Enterprise Oil, added: "I am delighted to be working with Richard and the team at Rockhopper as we look to build the business over the next few years in what is an exciting, and largely undrilled, exploration region.

"We are actively considering our funding options as we pursue other opportunities in the area that will enable us to grow the business."

all the way down the line there has been a suggestion of shell involvement with des lets hope its more than a suggestion in the forthcoming week.

I would say it was just a blip. If you look at all the main idices they are nearly all down. This could also be the lack of news causing invesment / trading to slow down. The main trend is still up. We always have some corrections when a stock shoots up, it's just when you know the close was higer a few days ago, you will automaticaly think (should have sold there). It has to be a personal choice, only you should decide what to do with your money. If you have made a large purchase recently you might want to protect yourself by selling to limit any loss. Selling stock is normal either at a profit or to cut your losses. If you have made a small purchase you will have to look at the cost of getting in & out of the trade, as this may wipe out some of your money. I have posted a 1 year chart this time, hope this helps you with your decision. What I must say is it's candles & moving averages we are looking at. (wish it were a crystal ball) These can only help us with our choice.

Like to see the 50 EMA which is sitting at 55p. 20 EMA which has provided support since the start of the rally in Nov looks to be failing, however would like to see a 2 day close below before comformation. SP could now test the 50 average.
