Hils
With my cash, long HAS please

hilary - 27 Apr 2003 09:45 - 471 of 591

Morning guys,

Thanks for the offer Jeroo. My spreadsheet file is in Lotus 123 format which I e-mail to Jeff who then opens it into Excel and then saves it as an html file for me to upload. To be perfectly frank, 123 has satisfied all of my requirements up until I took this game over and I'd never had a need to change. I'm familiar with it and I'm now torn between changing to Excel or upgrading my 123 to a more recent version which converts to html. Decisions, decisions!! The problem with the formulae seems to be within the Excel to html conversion at Jeff's end, as the formulae seem to be correct and everybody is displayed in the correct order.

I don't like to take liberties in asking Jeff to convert the files all the time, so I might take you up on your offer from time-to-time so as to split the imposition if that's ok.

I'm sorry that I've not updated the game this weekend - I've been a bit busy and I'll probably leave it until after I've updated the trades now. Please post your trades anyway.

edit 10.22am: I'll cover my ADN long and short PRM with the proceeds this week.

PS. Whoever suggested that Johnny English was slapstick (or words to that effect) - Well, you're right and may all of your daughters have 3 bottoms (You'll have to watch the film in order to appreciate that joke).

:-)

Hello everyone.

Hilary i would like to do the following:

close/sell my holdings in PIZ AND BOOT.

Split the proceeds from those sales equally between ULVR and AZN, both to be shorts please.

Thanks Hilary for giving up your time and keeping the game going, i appreciate it.

Mr Ashley James - 27 Apr 2003 12:36 - 473 of 591

Hil,

Please close ELA and put proceeds long into AVM Avocet Mining Plc.

Cheers

Ash

Hilary
You can take liberties with me any time.

rpaco - 27 Apr 2003 13:13 - 475 of 591

Anyone like to answer my query re the shorting rules please. Missed the deadline now.

rpaco - 27 Apr 2003 13:20 - 476 of 591

Ok dont bother, parsing the above today, I see SLF and BAY both being shorted on downticks so I guess normal SE rules don't apply and you can short anything anytimein the game.

jeffmack - 27 Apr 2003 14:19 - 477 of 591

rpaco
Short anything Ftse, AIm

rpaco - 27 Apr 2003 15:23 - 479 of 591

Had I had an answer earlier I would have sold ETQ and shorted CEU and sold OYS and shorted HVN. BUT there you go!

jeffmack - 27 Apr 2003 15:25 - 480 of 591

As your a newcomer I'm sure that hilary will overlook your late post, especially if you say nice things about her. Why not post exactly what you want to trade.

little woman - 27 Apr 2003 17:49 - 481 of 591

Hi Hilary, if it's OK with you, I've decided to give up waiting for Barclays to drop!

Could you close the entire holding a put into STAN long. (I'm into banks at the moment!)

If it's too late don't worry, just decided that maybe time I did something else....... and knowing how helpful you are and if you're not too busy any chance you squeeze my request in?

hilary - 27 Apr 2003 18:56 - 482 of 591

rpaco,

I'm sorry. I hadn't noticed your original question so, on this occasion, I'm happy to allow your trade.

Ashley & little woman,

Strictly speaking you've both posted after the 12 noon deadline. Again, I'm happy to let the trades go this time as it maintains the spirit of the game.

I've now made a note of all the trades for this week, so I'm afraid that that it will be it until next weekend now.

Thanks Hillary, I really appreciate it.

Ursidae - 01 May 2003 15:24 - 487 of 591

Hi Hilary,

Think there could be a mistake in table. I can't see it very well but it looks like I had 10559.98 for my NXT short after I closed my MRW long. This would mean that I made a profit on MRW although I started with 10K and closed for a loss. I don't know the official bid/offer prices but the mid at close on Friday was 185.5, so I would have got less than that.

I think that I've got more NXT than I'm entitled to and I don't wish to be seen as profiting from an error ....... unless it was real money of course, in which case I'd have no objection!

Cheers for now.

hilary - 02 May 2003 12:34 - 488 of 591

Hello Ursidae,

Sorry that I've not been back to you sooner. I've checked back through your trades. Your MRW trade was closed out at 185.5 on Friday night which was the bid at 4:30pm and it gave you a loss on the trade of 5242 shares x 0.03 = 157.26.

The funds available for opening your NXT position were also dictated by the Friday closing prices of your other 2 positions. The profitable IMT short has helped increase your available funds which probably explains why your NXT position is larger than expected.

If Jeff's around this afternoon, I'll post an updated table. It's a Bank Holiday on Monday and so trades for next week may be posted until noon on Monday. Monday also happens to be my wedding anniversary, so, if all the trades are to cock next week, it'll probably be because I was plastered when I updated the table!!

Please send it thru and I will covert.
