Not really George, remember Reading are on a bad run so 3 pts was hoped for, Burnley had enough chances to win a couple of games so 2 pts dropped as far as we were concerned, still you "can't win em all" as they say.

Burnley were held to a 0-0 draw by Reading today and it was a point that home manager Brian McDermott claimed as a point gained after holding a team as good as Burnley.

Speaking after the game, he said: “It’s another clean sheet against a team who will probably be playing in the Premier League next season. They’ve got a good chance. They know what they’re doing. They turned us round early on and there’s a certain formula you need to get out of this league and they might have it.

“They’ve got players who can score, they put five past MK Dons on the road, three past Brentford away, but I thought we might nick that game. To get a 0-0 here though, we’ll take that today.

“When you’re playing a top team like Burnley, it’s got to be a point gained. The players showed real resilience, fighting for everything, going into every tackle. There were some great battles going on all over the pitch.

“No one was giving an inch in a real tough Championship game. Once again our players stood up to them and it could have gone either way.”

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

However time to make up ground in the next 3 games is expected.

Burnley got a point, they did well. The Royals turned Burnley (home) over in September. The important month looks like April, some tough games then. There are also some desperate teams in the relegation spots who could upset the apple cart.

Alexis Sanchez is reportedly set to demand £160,000-a-week when he enters contract talks with Arsenal at the end of the season.

The Gunners want to tie the Chilean star down for another three years, keeping him at the Emirates until the summer of 2019, according to The Sun.

I suppose you will be praying for a Leeds win tonight. what about tomorrow Hull v Brighton, looks more and more like a play-off place for The Clarets.

Stan - 15 Feb 2016 17:15 - 4721 of 6918

So you don't support anyone.

Ed: Dirty Leeds to win and the other two to draw would suit.

2517GEORGE - 15 Feb 2016 17:23 - 4722 of 6918

That'll put you in 4th with the fast improving Owls breathing down your neck. You gotta admit it doesn't look good for automatic promotion for your team.

Stan - 15 Feb 2016 17:25 - 4723 of 6918

It's looking very good from here.

2517GEORGE - 15 Feb 2016 17:50 - 4724 of 6918

I hope you get promotion for your sake Stan, maybe that should be for your wife's sake because you'll be unbearable if they fail.

Stan - 15 Feb 2016 18:19 - 4725 of 6918

Wife says I'm unbearable now so not going up would make absolutely no difference -):

..But of course Burnley are going up.

Stan - 15 Feb 2016 21:33 - 4726 of 6918

There's a very good reason why no one should fear Sheff. Wed either George as regards promotion.
