How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?
Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Notice on the betfair sites that the 3pm kick off games in the premiership will not go in play:
Chelsea v Aston Villa
Man Utd v Blackburn
Newcastle v Man City
West Ham v Arsenal
If anyone has backed prior to kick off with a view to laying off then you need to close before kick off

Just 15 minutes notice from betfair is a bit of a joke. Lots of very ticked off punters on the soccer forum

Now 3pm has come and gone and they have not turned the footie in play the site seems to running better
As you say sealed, a lot of very unhappy punters at the moment. In future if looking to trade the footie, i plan to check service announcements and the forum to check going in play

It's a total mare. The only issue they could have is load and / or pictures. I reckon at least 50% of people use the market to trade out in play so they are going to get a load of stick for this and rightly so.

We are introducing a Betfair performance measure to Bet Angel next week that will give you a good idea of the load and Betfair's ability to cope. It should also help you maximise your system performance and communications with Betfair.

It would also appear David Moyes is going to be out of a job very soon, maybe Ferguson should retire as well?

It would appear that the NE Derby is not 'in play' today, seems a bit odd, can anyone confirm?
