Papal

personally dont think it is right that you dont accept any prizes you may win - however if you decide to donate to chairty i think would be a great gesture

PapalPower - 24 Nov 2005 17:35 - 479 of 550

Yes of course that is the other option and I would have no worries over doing that, but lets see if I keep in first place first, nothing is won until its won.

Is the leader board for real?
Have 2 people really made that kind of gain? And if so, WOW!!!

You would have thought papalpower could have just waited for the prize this month, i can't believe the gains the other two have made.

hewittalan6 - 30 Nov 2005 09:25 - 483 of 550

Just can't think how they did it, Jimmy. The biggest rising shares yesterday only went up about 30%, and the same for the fallers, but these two made gains well over 100% in a day!!

Was it the RTD consolidation I wonder :-)

hewittalan6 - 30 Nov 2005 09:29 - 485 of 550

Surely that would have been profit neutral, as the sp rose by 5x but you got 1/5 of the number of shares.

alan

should have been neutral but im guessing like kayak they have picked up a 400% rise on half of their pot

hewittalan6 - 30 Nov 2005 09:35 - 487 of 550

Ah. Wasn't this one of the bugs that MAM were addressing before the game started so it couldn't happen again?
Best of luck to both of them.
I'll just hope for something similar on all my fantasy holdings!

Al

if it is the case it will be corrected, but in the game i guess they bought at 22p ish and they are now at 122p and the buy price hasnt as yet been adjusted - cant see any other shares that have moved enough for them to have got there

Bet papal would like to know :-)

hewittalan6 - 30 Nov 2005 09:44 - 489 of 550

Thanks for the info, Fundy. I always wondered what the nodding and winking was about the previous game, now I have a clue!!
Doesn't affect me anyway, because my investments are pi55 poor.
This game is so like real life, isn't it.

What happened with RTD?? , i have seen share split s where you get say 5 for 1 ,,i remember it happened to me with Topps Tiles , but i don't think i have seen it the other way ..

Fundamentalist - 30 Nov 2005 09:50 - 491 of 550

Jimmy

they have recently issued some new shares hence have decided to consolidate their shares so for each 5 old ones you got 1 new hence the price went up by a factor of 5. Main reasoning being to reduce the volatility and to take it out of the "penny share" environment

hewittalan6 - 30 Nov 2005 09:51 - 492 of 550

You got 1 for 5, a bit like JRVS a couple of months ago. The rip off usually is that if you hold ie 18 shares, you will get 3 new shares and the 0.6 of a new share will not be issued.
Alan

jimmy b - 30 Nov 2005 10:16 - 493 of 550

Thanks Fundy ,i havn't (until now) come across that ..

mackem - 30 Nov 2005 11:32 - 494 of 550

I think 1st 2nd and 3rd places are wrong, it takes a while to sort out
where it went wrong for the moneyam team but i'm sure it will soon be corrected.

Keep looking for you to play your hand kayak but no sign ?

Kayak - 30 Nov 2005 11:56 - 495 of 550

mackem, I've had a bad month. They happen :-)

petesteve - 30 Nov 2005 11:59 - 496 of 550
