Why are you in a barbed wire compound in Cheltenham Socs?
Why don't you just go to the races?

Socrates - 16 Mar 2004 17:09 - 4787 of 23498

Snoball
Everyone else goes to the races, the Cheltenham residents barricade themselves in or go on holiday and rent out their houses.

snoball - 16 Mar 2004 19:51 - 4788 of 23498

Ah, now I understand!
I suppose it must be fairly hairy if you actually live there.
All that horse poo in the street. :-)

Socrates - 16 Mar 2004 22:24 - 4789 of 23498

Snoball
No, thats wrong. There is no horse pooh in the street because nothing can move on the street. Cheltenham is traffic light city at the best of time but on race days everything just grinds to a halt.

snakey - 16 Mar 2004 22:38 - 4790 of 23498

snoball, apt name for a little `paddy`s day` story. I am one, so no offence meant to any posters.
Paddy was away skiing for the first time recently and not really knowing what to do, or where to go, he stopped someone near the slopes who he thought may be able to help. Having asked this guy where the ski slope was and getting a reply of "I`m sorry, but I`m a Tobogganist and don`t know much about skiing", Paddy
graciously replied, "No worries, I`ll just have 20 Benson and Hedges then"
good luck and bestest

snakey - 16 Mar 2004 22:39 - 4791 of 23498

p.s. Look out for Cenkos in main race tomorrow.

snoball - 16 Mar 2004 22:42 - 4792 of 23498

lol, snakey.

Golddog - 16 Mar 2004 22:53 - 4793 of 23498

Once again i must apologise for bunny droppings around the kitchen floor and work surface! The dog mess on the other hand is filthy and i shall take every step to catch the culprit?

Welcome to the Tea Rooms Snakey. Would you like a sandwich specially prepared from the Kitchen? Should your sandwich contain any bacteria please dont blame it on the dog.

:-)

Socks, Where do all the horses go at night?

Vasey, Do they serve Champers at your internet cafey?

stockbunny - 17 Mar 2004 15:31 - 4794 of 23498

Greetings fellow tea-drinkers and others,
what a nice surprise to take a break from working, come
into the site for the first time today and check the stockwatch!
Well whatever Gordon got right or wrong, the city appear to like
it even if it's only for today!!

Now-now GD - I use the ladies thank you! And despite the
rumours I know you use the Gents as you're a civilized pooch!
I think 'others' are treading the nasty stuff in on their shoes
and not admitting it! I mean that stuff by the fire looks prime
rosebed material and out of your & my league completely....

OK stocks are in the blue so it's a glass of cab Sauv' please!

stockbunny - 17 Mar 2004 16:44 - 4795 of 23498

Are we all out watching the gee-gees????
Have we forgotten to wake up following the budget???
Are we all working overtime? (no ok that's unlikely..)
Ah we're all doing to trolley shuffle at Tesco!!!!!

optomistic - 17 Mar 2004 17:31 - 4796 of 23498

Stockbunny
Been out all day and looks like everyone else has too, not seen the budget.
Should I be dashing to Tesco to pick up some pre Tax increase bargains or should I relax with a dash of malt? that should be safe as a lot of MP's are partial to it!

Socrates - 17 Mar 2004 17:45 - 4797 of 23498

Golddog
Where do all the horses go at night? They all go home to be of course, they get very uppity if they don't have a stable environment.

jgp212 - 18 Mar 2004 06:09 - 4798 of 23498

stockbunny - 18 Mar 2004 16:21 - 4800 of 23498

hello folks seems all quiet in here again today...but
that's fine cos the bunny's got a rotten headache from
working too hard - been typing away all day, good heavens
whatever next!! So I'm picking the most comfy chair by
the fire where it's nice and warm and I'm going to sit
quietly with a couple of headache pills and a cup of
tea...and maybe a slice of cherry cake....No shouting plse..

little woman - 18 Mar 2004 16:29 - 4801 of 23498

Hi all - my colds pretty well gone now, but I think I still need something to make sure it stays away........ 1 min to go to market close.............

little woman - 18 Mar 2004 16:31 - 4802 of 23498

mmmm Jeff you're right - left very tight!!!

Not like this on the other threads

stockbunny - 18 Mar 2004 16:31 - 4803 of 23498

And it doesn't look like it has been the greatest day either
but little CRY (my bob the builder) have had a good day so
I'm happy.
Little woman glad you feel a bit better now!!

little woman - 18 Mar 2004 16:36 - 4804 of 23498

Thanks stockbunny - hope your headache goes away soon.

Odd sort of day - a couple of my shares have done well today when I wasn't watching, whereas others have dropped slightly as I expected as they have had a couple of good days.

Auction should be over now........

Socrates - 18 Mar 2004 18:25 - 4805 of 23498

Hello one and all. Cheltenham should be getting back to normal soon as all the race goers move out. I suppose I will have to help taking down all the barbed wire and lifting all the mines again. I hope they had a good time and spent lots of money in the town. Weather wasn't too bad, a few showers around, but that's enough about Hightone and Jeffmack, let's get the kettle on.
