If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!
Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.
The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.
This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)
If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

Guvnor,
If this isn't the cause, JT has said he will be able to fix it, but in the meantime, you should use the moneyam.com address not .co.uk

Guvnor,
The problem is that you are using the .co.uk address and not the .com.
I'll be making some changes on Monday which should eliminate this issue, in the meanwhile, go
here and it should go away.

Every time I click on a link such as stockwatch, then onto investors, or even to earlier threads I have to re-log in. I can see from previous posts that this has been a problem for a few days. Any idea when the problem will be rectified.
I even had difficulty posting this.
Thanks greekman

greekman,
If it is happening that frequently, it may well be taht you do not have session cookies enabled in your browser, or you firewall is blocking them in some way. to re enable in IE, do the following:
Click on tools
click on internet options
Click on privacy
No put a tick next to 'override auto cookie handling'
Then put a tick next to always allow session cookies.

Ian,
Thanks re quick reply, but it's not a cookie problem as I clear cookies after each session. I have not change anything in my internet options or privacy from Friday when I had no problems. Even to open up your reply I had to re log in, and again log in to post this to you.

greekman,
Obviously without looking at your machine, I cannot say for sure, but it sounds very much like a cookie setting at your end. As you say people have reported a similar issue, but I believe the 2 not to be linked, as if our site was causing people to log back in every minute as you are being forced to do, there would be many reports of this, yours has been the only one.
The cookies are one thing that can be knocked out or chnaged by an automated update (I see it happen quite regularly), so even though you have not changed anything, your firewall, windows, or any number of pieces of software on your system could have run an update without you knowing, which has caused this. Check if session cookies are enabled in your browser from the above message I posted. If not that is more than likely your problem. If they are you will need to refer to your internet security help to check the settings in there and change them back to allow cookies.

Hi
Is anyone else having problems with level2 this morning?
I keep getting "Satus: connection lost. Attempting to reconnect".
(I have already tried deleteing cookies, clearing the browser cash and the java cash, then loging back in.)

Ian,
I have done as you suggested, still same problem. I have also on my sons advice ( he is a graduate in IT ) allowed all cookies, still same problem. Sorry but must be your end.

rich65/greekman,
Can you tell me from the address bar if you have the site showing as MoneyAM.co or co.uk?

moneyam.com
I tried accessing level2 from a different machine on the same network (running Windows rather than Linux) and level 2 works fine.
The machine on which it does not work today (it has always worked before) is running Linux + Firefox/0.8 + Java runtime 1.4.2_04

greekman,
Is this using IE? Could you possibly try using firefox, and see if you get the same results?

J.
I am hoping to upgrade Firefox when I get time ( I need to upgrate my version of Linux first).
Anyway, that is not the problem as it has been working fine until today.
Not using any privacy filtering s/w, just an ADSL Modem/Router/Firewall but that must be OK as I can access level2 OK from another machine on the same network.

rich65,
The way our cookie mechanism worked was changed on Saturday afternoon. It's possible that it caused it to break on the old version of firefox (I can't try a 0.8 version to test it out either)
you could try downloading the static binaries from here:
http://www.mozilla.com/products/download.html?product=firefox-1.5.0.3&os=linux〈=en-US
and seeing if they work without having to upgrade your linux distro.
