The Small Security Appliance for High Security

Banks, Power Utilities, MSSP's, & Retailers all have critical security requirements and end points that are underserved by partial UTM solutions and router based security. To date it has been very expensive to extend the full version of the corporate security standards across the enterprise. Without real security, ATM machines continue to use expensive lease lines, power sub stations rely on DC powered products and the MSSP's & Retailers require lower cost solutions that meet corporate standards. These customer driven requirements have helped Resilience develop the latest extension of our security appliance family, the 9100 Small Security Appliance for High Security needs.

Now customers can choose to run a full firewall license, Websense v7 content filtering, or other Linux based security applications on a small box, giving them affordability, performance, rock solid uptime, and the low operational expense they expect from Resilience. Customers with serious operational expense reduction initiatives can now extend their standard corporate security products and policies to the remote areas of their networks with the 9100. Customers still benefit from the low touch Resilience RES/OS operating system and Integrated High Availabilitytm or they can run on a partner provided OS.


The 9100 Security Appliances are available for immediate delivery in AC power configurations and the DC power options will ship in November. The single and duel core options support all of our partner products while meeting a range of throughput requirements from 300mb for VPNs and firewall speeds of up to 2Gb. Websense v7 Web Security is always bundled with RES/OS and supports up to 2500 users.


MSSP's are adopting a strategy where they deploy a single vendors open architecture security platform in order to drive down multi vendor inventories and the Total Cost of Ownership associated with supporting complex environments. Cambridge, MA -- Scott Klein from DU-COMM, a consolidated 911 dispatch center located in DuPage County, IL, has been looking for a set it and forget it appliance. Before Mr. Klein contacted Resilience he was operating Websense version 6.3 on an outdated Dell PowerEdge server that was slow and had reached its end-of-life.

"Servers arent cheap" so Mr. Klein was hesitant to make a decision that was going to be more work and less reward. Mr. Klein was adamant to find a plug and play appliance that was going to solve all his needs without breaking the bank.

Mr. Klein compared Resilience to a new Windows server and a Websense appliance from another vendor. The Windows server required additional support from a patch standpoint, and the other appliance required proxy settings on every box, reports Mr. Klein. In addition, we had real concerns over down time resulting from the Windows Updates. Both options required constant management and were the exact opposite of what Mr. Klein was looking for.

After doing a final analysis, DU-COMM selected the Resilience security appliance for Websense and moved to the latest Websense release version 7. Resilience was compelling for its ease of use and plug and play operations. DU-COMM is now managing all policies in one place, reported Mr. Klein. No more worries over policy access from remote servers, no proxies to set, and no more Patch Tuesdays! Best of all I havent touched the Resilience appliance since the installation.

Overall, I have been very pleased with Resilience. They offer a real appliance.

to collaborate in utilising VPEP technology on RTC hardware and delivering new virtualisation security appliances.

RTC and VPEP will also work together on the launch of products such as the VPEP for Squid Proxy Server, which optimises web delivery, and VPEP for Snort Intrusion Detection, a network intrusion detection and prevention system. RTC will be the main reseller for these two products.

In addition Nexus said it has issued 1.88m new ordinary shares at GBP0.837 per share to satisfy GBP16,000 of the debt owed to the vendors of RTC.

The company has also issued 6.48m new ordinary shares at GBP0.837 to employees, of which 3.19m shares have been issued in lieu of payments due to certain members of staff. The net proceeds of the issue, totalling GBP28,000, will be used for general working capital.

Nexus Management (NXS, 0.805p, 7.89m) The groups subsidiary, Resilience Technology Corporation (RTC), has entered a co-operation agreement with VPEP Technology, the original vendor of RTC, to deliver new virtualisation security applications. The group has announced the issue of 8.35m shares to repay a debt to the RTC vendors (0.16m) and issued shares to staff members, some of which was instead of amounts owed. Finally the group announces that one of the orders that was announced as previously delayed has now been shifted. The group remains a SPECULATIVE BUY.

Tis very strange why people do this and waste their time. Do they really feel that people will be deceived into buying such crap? I think by now all members of a site such as this are intelligent enough to make-up their own minds and won't feel the need to be led by such a dillusional ramp.

Of course the reason they do it is simply to keep the header at the top of the boards and therefore they don't care that the news is out-of-date. I appreciate that I have just done likewise. However, now that I have had my say I shall post on here no more.
