The very ease of use of the CCR service is also its potential downfall. You can switch away from CCR at a moment's notice.

The BBC2 program about VoIP last Friday was interesting but only scratched the surface. It covered Skype, which I think is a bit of a novelty but also Vonage which is more of a serious provider. There are dozens like that around. You don't even need a call provider to use VoIP. If you have a downloadable soft phone or an IP phone then you can connect for free is you know the IP address of the other person. The call operators effectively give your IP address a phone number. I could give you a huge list of VoIP operators that can be used from your PC or with an ATA adaptor you can use your own normal phone over broadband wtihout a PC. This is a very dificult market to make money in long term.

Are there any aim listed companies that manufacture 'Throaties'? Now would ne a good time to buy in! The swating seems to have slowed a bit but the old voice is still missing! Rang the missus earlier, she thought it was a dirty phone call!!!!

Even calling cards is not such a good business any more. I see 5 calling cards on sale for 3-50 or three for 9-25 in newsagents shops everywhere now. I have even seen a few doing them at 3 each. The margins for the orginator of the calling cards is now tiny. Out of that 5 card for 3 has to come the profit for the newsagent and the carrier. What was a good business over the last couple of years is now this year much more competitive.

The market for IP services to corporations is now much more difficult. BT alone are now huge providers of VoIP to companies. It was two years ago now that BT converted the whole of Abbey's branch network telephone system to VoIP. In the long term it will be the major carriers that survive and not the small players like EVS.

That feels a lot better and I like the word squelch! I dont mind opposite opinions to EVS as long as it factual where as haystacks comments clearly are not.

One of the problems with this thread is thatadvansuk and peteark are here. They are both well known rampers from the 'dark side' and not to be believed about most things.

Advansuk likes to post web site hit statistics to be able to pretend that CCR is getting lots of business. Of course we all know that they are just web site hits and nothing more.

Pete, I think we need to be pretty rigid about this and perhaps insist that the squelch is a prerequisite of posting on this thread. It's a bit dictatorial, but to ensure we achieve a good, troublefree thread, it needs to be done.

At the end of the day, 99% of the posters would love to see Haystack gone, so those who pander to him will extend his annoyance to all on here.

Perhaps a list of people who are not prepared to filter him should be put at the top of the header and they too filtered?

I see no alternative but to police the thread ourselves, we WILL keep the problems to a minimum as long as people agree that is what they want.

We all have a lot of money tied up in Envesta and there's no doubt CCR will perform judging by present response.

Unlike Hays comments on the other side that we are just rampers, we see things as they are at this moment in time. Everythig is positive, no signs of bad news, what more can we say?

The Alexa web site statistics on CCR have little meaning as can be seen from this exchange. Advansuk tries to pretend that the web site hits equate to levels of business.

Spoke to someone who did not honestly know when the next reporting date was.

Last year the FY results were out at the end of September. That's more than 4 months away. Plenty of time to see the price drop.
