I "grumble" about "governments", but I would hate to have the responsibility.

The thing I dislike about this government is their lack of long term policies in favour of society as a whole, in favour of short term policies, which they hope will buy them favours with their backers, or in the short term advantageous to themselves. (Greed.)

I dislike their dishonesty with and distortion of "figures", to the degree when the general public distrusts them. (A new low in politics.)

I can't remember a period in which UK society has been so fragmented and demoralised and with little unity of future goals for children and society as a whole.

It is a stinking time in politics.

this afternoon, i had a very good meeting with a client at the golf club as it was one place that would be quite quiet, and also is a very nice place to be
in fact, that meeting turned out to have far more potential than i expected, so time very well spent indeed

Johann Lamont has resigned as leader of the Scottish Labour party with immediate effect, ending weeks of speculation about her future.


Her decision to quit comes a month after she helped lead the successful No campaign in the independence referendum.

It is believed Ms Lamont was fed up with internal sniping about her leadership and was critical of party bosses in London for not allowing the Scottish party more autonomy.

Last night Ms Lamont was reported as saying: “I am standing down so that the debate our country demands can take place.”

But a source close to the Glasgow Pollok MSP said her resignation letter, which will be made public today, would contain “a kick at Ed Miliband and the Scottish Labour MPs at Westminster”.
