THURSDAY, 08 JUNE, 2006 *
So several months have passed... Based on the success of last Summer's Event at Longcliffe G.C., a few of you have asked me to take over the reigns from PTH and organise another G0LF M0NEY-AM DAY again based in the MIDLANDS. This is fairEST to the majority coming from all over the UK! From initial feedback (reflecting on 2005 36-Hole hot mid-Summer's day!), the popular view for a 2006 Event has been agreed, as follows: -
* Tea/Coffee on arrival.
* 9 Holes (4BBB 3/4 Stab.) Comp.
* Sandwiches/Lunch.
** 18 Holes (MAIN INDIVIDUAL (FULL HANDICAP) STABLEFORD EVENT) with M-AM and Golfing Prizes for Winners, incl. "Nearest-to-the-Pin" on the 9th. Hole and "The-Longest-Drive" on the 18th. Hole.
* 3-Course Evening Dinner (full waitress service), incl. coffee & mints + Prize Presentation/Mic. Table.
(** ADDITIONAL PRIZES from our generous SPONSORS include: - 3 months worth of Shares Magazine sent to the homes of EACH COMPETITOR every week. The Overall Winner will get The Money-AM Annual Golf Challenge Cup to keep for good plus 1 year's worth of Money-AM Level 2 service worth 357.50 + Vat. The Runner-Up and Third Placed Winners will each get a medal to keep plus 6 months' level 2.)
Venue: - H0RSLEY L0DGE G.C., Belper, Derbyshire (Championship Meadowland Course with American-type Greens). Refreshments will be in the On-Site Kingfisher Restaurant. Entry Fee is: - 60 per Competitor which will cover all of the above ** plus enough to buy some additional golfing prizes.

Markus, yes I did . He is also a member of Hollingwell in notts . He told me, he played badly in a comp on saturday and gave himself .1 back and adjusted his own handicap from 5.4 to 5.5 , so he played off 6 on sunday ????? rules for him and rules for others !

Fliper: He took the wrong reaction. He can't assume that his handicap was revised upwards. Correct action is to mark the card with the lower handicap; then higher handicap can be applied retrospectively but not vice versa. If he ahs claimed too high a handicap then he is disqualified. Get in there!

Many thanks, marcus: if my head was loose, I would forget that as well; in fact, I lose it quite often!

Fliper, any comeback on that nutter who threatened you recently?
When are we having our re-match? Any others from the M/AM Event interested in making up a 4BBB?

Hi All,
Just spoken to Bobcolby, and he is having problems with his internet connections at the moment, so he wanted me to let you know that if he doesn't reply to an E mail about the golf day (next years provisional one), its because of that.

Returned from The Wirral this afternoon after gracing The Open at Hoylake. Of the 9 holes we saw Tiger Woods play on Friday, he scored 4 birdies and an eagle. Truly different class to the rest of the field. Think I've finally learned what I've been doing wrong on my backswing after all these years having watching The Tiger! So expecting to get back down to single figures very soon? :o)

Fliper has contacted me seeking a re-match by way of a 4BBB, at the end of August. If any of you are interested in making up the other 2 places (Fliper wants to be on the opoposing side!) then please email myself a.s.a.p. with prefered dates?
Cheers,
M.

Mark, I played Erewash GC in your neck of the woods last week. A good course spoiled by the motorway. Have you played it?...............Rod

Yes, Rod, I've played a few Club matches there. Excellent greens. Good track but agree with you re: the M1 - affects at least 5 holes, as I recall. What was the occasion, may I ask? Playing in Sheff. Wed. F.C. Pro-Am at Hallowes, in Dronfield, later this morning. In fact, better get my skates on - don't wanna be late!

It was an Inter-site tournament for Kodak. I scored 36pts which I was happy with, as I only had a chance to play 9 holes in the morning, and there are some blind holes on the back 9.............brings back memories!!

Just returned from Hallowes G.C., in Dronfield, where yes, we won 1st. [FIRST!!!] Prize in the Sheffield Wed. F.C. Golf Pro-Am. Event with 83 points. - courtesy of a magnificent Shark-biride on the final hole. Was poetic justic to be presented with 1st. Prize from David Hirst (who was part of 2005 winning team), ex-Owls/ENGLAND centre forward. Shark narrowly missed "Nearest-the-Pin" (by mere inches!), as well. A good day out.
