LIBYA - updating news

cynic - 02 Mar 2011 11:48

starting this thread, which i hope will be short-lived, to keep the board up to date with latest reports gleaned from the net

How do you know, if you don't know who he was?

I thought you were beginning to wander, or was that your father?

cynic - 20 Apr 2011 16:06 - 488 of 685

Keep trying Mr.C you will get there.

cynic - 21 Apr 2011 07:15 - 493 of 685

i'm glad haystack managed to bring up the pic of our family car, but damned if i know how he did it, especially as that is assuredly my pic

cynic - 21 Apr 2011 08:16 - 494 of 685

meanwhile ..... perhaps it's my imagination, but there seems to be little or no news coming out of libya ..... hard to believe that they've all packed up for a very long easter holiday break, so just perhaps there's a news blackout imposed

Stan - 21 Apr 2011 09:05 - 495 of 685

It's your imagination,

Fernando Torres has signed up to be a peacekeeper in Libya. He's doing a good job too... no shots have been reported so far.

cynic - 23 Apr 2011 08:14 - 496 of 685

no quite sure of the implications of the following .... "The Libyan army could pull out of the rebel-held city of Misratah and be replaced by armed tribesmen, a senior government official has said." ..... my guess is that it means MG has given up hope of recapturing this key town, so will pretend that "allowing" the local tribes to take over is his true tactical choice

in the same article i also came across a new and vile americanism - attrited ..... makes one want to hate the amis with a vengeance!

Bernard M - 25 Apr 2011 09:08 - 497 of 685

Hope the bastard was inside at the time.

Bernard M - 26 Apr 2011 06:59 - 498 of 685

Did you hear what the rebels are doing to Prisoners Captured. Shooting them in the foot so that they are unable to run away.

This bunch of abusive retards is the reason MoneyAM will NEVER have a forum worth reading.

I have reported them to support by they do nothing, either because they want to force me to PAY them for the Traders Room or because they are too lazy to do anything. Maybe the people in support are the ones perpetrating the abuse, so as to force people to pay for the premium boards. Either way the service is sh1te and a disgrace to the finance industry. No wonder there is nobody left here apart from morons.

I will continue posting my good research on boards that are run in accordance with FSA and LSE listing rules and the interests of the market, not here where ar5eh0les rule the boards and all decent research is buried under their piles of sh1te.

It is a BB man lighten up if you think you got flamed here try ADVFN it is a madhouse for the mental rampers.

Haystack - 26 Apr 2011 18:46 - 502 of 685

LOL

Quite an outburst. I find it difficult to believe that the management of MAM are trying to force you into paying for the Traders BB. You should look at ADVFN if you want to see abuse. I can't say that I have seen much on here and nothing serious directed towards you. Maybe your research is not quite as good as you think. As regards FSA rules are concerned, this site seems to be the best regulated site I have found.

I wonder if the American action in Pakistan was attempting to divert attention from policy failures in Libya, Syria and Iraq.

Have heard much from the triumphant Cameron and Hague on how their policies are working in this area.

Cynic,

What should the "rebels" and "coalition forces" do now?

Fred1new - 09 May 2011 09:29 - 505 of 685

When do rebels become terrorists?

cynic - 09 May 2011 10:11 - 506 of 685

i confess i haven't been keeping up with the news either on libya or elsewhere for the several days ..... however, i think it imperative that MG is deposed for he clearly totally lacks popular support (within libya) ...... for sure there will be much negotiation and similar going on behind the scenes, i'ld guess with a view for him going quietly (and no doubt with a large swag bag too) ..... i also note that "we" (the NATO coalition) is getting decidedly close to sending in ground forces - as opposed to forces politely masquerading as advisors - and that makes me very uncomfortable

whether NATO has the ability and will to act as policeman in libya, i am uncertain, and on the assumption that they do, then it seems to me it should only be with the full support of the "rebels" and Arab League

the other alternative would be to split the country in two as has already been mooted, and as historically was the case somewhere in the past ..... how peaceful a solution that would be, i have considerable doubts

============

so at least i put my thoughts to paper, unlike you (fred) who just criticises and jumps up and down on your soapbox of the day ...... your rubbish about pakistan being a diversionary issue is just a typical fred semi-canard
