Referendum : to be in Europe or not to be ?, that is the question ! (REF)

required field - 03 Feb 2016 10:00

Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

grannyboy - 17 Aug 2016 11:38 - 4896 of 12628

Of course the UK will get special treatment, we are too big a market for
them to get stroppy.

Fred1new - 17 Aug 2016 12:12 - 4897 of 12628

LOL

Haystack - 17 Aug 2016 12:21 - 4898 of 12628

However, I would expect us to pay some money and accept some freedom of movement. Otherwise, it will encourage some other countries to leave as well.

ExecLine - 17 Aug 2016 12:42 - 4899 of 12628

Most people would think that would be acceptable.

A 'special deal' would be a good solution. We have a lot to offer the EU, even outside of being members of it. eg. Security information and help, military help and expertise, diplomatic skills, etc, etc.

grannyboy - 17 Aug 2016 12:46 - 4900 of 12628

Well i don't think you will get the likes of Lithuania, Romania, Hungary, etc
leaving, them being reliant on the massive handouts that they receive.

And i've yet to see any exports from these mega world beating economic
powerhouses..Besides their 'skilled' car washers of course..

Haystack - 17 Aug 2016 13:04 - 4901 of 12628

Ipsos/Mori poll just out

Voting intention figures show the Conservatives widening a lead over Labour to their highest since 2009. The Conservatives currently stand at 45%, compared with Labour at 34%, the Liberal Democrats at 7% and UKIP at 6%.

Fred1new - 17 Aug 2016 13:06 - 4902 of 12628

Most people.

Where do the Mosts live?

When Italy's banking system goes tits up and is not allowed to fail, that's when other countries will leave.

Fred1new - 18 Aug 2016 10:03 - 4908 of 12628

Wait for 3months and have a look.

World valuation of UK future economy seems a little bleaker.

MaxK - 18 Aug 2016 11:17 - 4909 of 12628

Oh give over Fred.

Blighty might be bad, but €uroland is far far worse.

They cant even get monitary policy right, floundering around like beached whales.

Negative interest rates anyone?
