The engines have fired up at last for MDX. ( BPRG ) At long last they are being recognised for the force they will become over the next two years. On the cusp of disclosing huge revenue-earning deals with Global pharmacists. These have been hinted at as being unrolled before the years end, but may be in the next days. You still have time to get in at a bargain-basement price before the SP takes off for real shortly.

I am not hostile towards youthat is a factyou would definitely know it if I were! I would say the reversego a check over twenty or thirty posts between us and I think you will be surprised at who has said what
Second point it aint the crazy gangalthough that would be a better name.it is the groovy gangskateboards and allpurely because of the unfunny childish remarks made by mostwith bouncy taking the gold medal.. trig the silver.. and you the bronze.
ThirdListenI have broad shouldersI can laugh at myselfand I can certainly laugh at you lot how many on here call themselves thickos or state their wealth in life is all down to luckdo you believe me when I tell you I am fantastic and truly sensationalyou lot are far too proud and pompous to admit anything honest.
The last point which is the only time you and the others do wind me upis thisI do not post on here to get more people buying mdx sharesor ramp the companyI do not wish for any investor to lose their moneymdx ..whether you believe it or not owe me nothingeven at this stageI am sad not for myself but for others I know have been mislead and cheated by RTmany good people including friends have lost life savings. retirement fundsand in some cases their houseswhen I see some of you mocking these peopleI wonder how low life can one get
I know more about this company than you probably believeand I do have to be careful in what I saybuteven in this climate they have more than a fighting chance of turning things roundbut if you are a safe investorthere are better investments out there!

pth
I've read the announcement.
What it says is that MDX are effectively giving the profitable arm of the business to the bank in exchange for writing off a large part of their liability. This leaves the company with a much reduced liability and a loss making business. In the short term that's a very bad thing - but if the management are any good, it presents an opportunity to turn the business around.
I'd see the announcement as bad news in the short term, neutral further out. But also an opportunity for the management to make or break their reputations.

This sell was not a surprisedexo france required further investment and we are now DEBT FREE
Cambridge, UK, 8 December 2008: Meldex International Plc (AIM: MDX), the specialty pharma and healthcare company announces that it has entered into contracts to dispose of Laboratoires Pharmaceutique Dexo SA ('Dexo France'), it's French based prescription branded business for a cash payment of 8.5m (7.3m*). However, the Company retains the rights to the Dexo name outside of France. The completion and consideration is expected to be received in the next two months, once regulatory paper work is approved by the French Authorities.

No, it wasn't a surprise because Scrutable posted the news in the zoo a few days ago. Wonder where he gets his info from?

Well, Tabatha, you didn't know enough about this company to expect that RNS, did you?
Yet another year where no profit realised, distressed sale on assets (irrelevant whether core or non-core), and no chance of more funding at a good rate by the sound of it. Now you know why the KKs had to sell just to get by. I've pointed to all this previously, as have others - it wasn't hard to read between the lines in this economic climate.
"As part of the ongoing restructuring of the cost base new product development work is currently on hold". How many products are ready to go and how many have been shelved? This is now a critical question, because it all saps plainly strained capital.
Overall, this is massively bad news for MDX IMO.

According to the rest of SCRUTABLE's post then this is the tip of the iceberg.

"As a result of the disposal of Dexo France, the ongoing working capital constraints, the restructuring process and costs which the bank have imposed on Meldex, results for the year ending 31 December 2008 and forecasts for 2009 will, regrettably, be below market expectations."
So another loss to look forward to, will this company ever make a profit?

One more thing, Tabatha:
The people who post either on here or in the zoo are constantly berated for predicting exactly what happens every time.
I do not wish to see people lose out, but if they adamantly refuse to listen to reasoned arguments against, and there have been many, then they will lose the lot. Sad, but true, and a position of their own making.

Where does it say MDX are debt free. They use the words Reduce and majority.
8 December 2008
Meldex International Plc ('Meldex ' or 'the Company')
Disposal of Dexo France Business Unit to Reduce Bank Debt
Restructuring update
The funds received will be used to repay the majority of an outstanding facility of 7m which was originally negotiated in October 2007.
