How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?
Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

the big question is is it for real or a hoax and someone is laying the short price happily? we'll find out later though tempted to back over 2.5 goals. If the game goes 1-0, 1-1, 2-1 i shall be laying the side leading 2-1

been trading the marseille game with small success - pretty poor game that ended 0-0 and going into extra time
Wish id gone with my gut feel on the Roma game - lay the 2-2 and back the draw

hi guys
sounds like you have all had a good night on the footy. Just back from Scrip's course so no participation from me this evening. Had a good day, just got to try and put into practise all the knowledge Scrip passesd on. Should have taken a camcorder!!
Seriously though, now have the strategy to start trading rather than hoping for the best. No more backing 0-0 draws for me (well, perhaps now and again).
Catch you all later

pth, it was nice to meet you at the course. Pity I had to rush off, but had to be back here by 8pm. Good course and I will now try a few small trades. My RIO came right in the end, so feeling a lot better now! H

just a small tip to all you like backing the 0-0 draw without trading out of the position, look at the first goalscorer odds as most bookies do not have own goal and the odds most of the time the same as backing the 0-0 if there is an own goal you lose on 0-0 butfirst check with with the bookie to make sure the above apply.just checked for the liverpool v chelsea match on sundaythe tote are 7/1 best price for 0-0 and the same in the first goalscorer .

Morning All,
Nice to see everyone doing well last night.
John, Thanks for another great night out and I'll send you the stuff we chatted about in due course.
Steve, Sorry you couldn't make it but you'd have enjoyed the place we were in. We didn't quite manage to break their bank but had a damn good go. Will definitely arrange another outing there as soon as I get back
