THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

cynic - 05 Nov 2014 09:22 - 49268 of 81564

do you think he's suffering from shell shock or ptsd?

cynic - 05 Nov 2014 09:24 - 49269 of 81564

to counterbalance, and of course you can always trust everything you read in the guardian as one can in the mail ......

Gary Calton for the Guardian
European migrants to the UK are not a drain on Britain’s finances and pay out far more in taxes than they receive in state benefits, a new study has revealed.

The research by two leading migration economists at University College also reveals that Britain is uniquely successful, even more than Germany, in attracting the most highly skilled and highly educated migrants in Europe.

I would like to see UKIP a little further up the pole.

But aren't the tories quiet about Rochester.

I thought Cameron was going to stride over there with sword in hand a decapitate the Reckless one.

Haven't hear a word about Kelly Tolhurst suckered in to stand.

Would have thought Boris would give her a hand.

Seems he is hiding from Angela behind Theresa skirts.

15 days left for tory collapse.

I wonder what bribes will be offered to prevent further defections?

goldfinger - 05 Nov 2014 09:39 - 49272 of 81564

Its difficult this immigration debate.

On the one hand you have employers in the south of Britain saying they cant do without them and then you have people in the big cities saying they are under cutting us on wages etc etc.

Its a real big problem that we have and there are plusses and minuses.

Basicaly Im all for freedom of movement within the EEC, I dont like people being able to send child benefit back home though. But some of these foreign chaps work so hard. like machines and have no meal breaks etc etc.

What Im against isnt the EEC imigration but the Pakistan movement here.

Imposing there way of life upon us , halal meat etc etc, brides brought in when they already have 3 wifes et etc, they are taking he pith out of the government and as Cyners says this is not a party political point scoring point.

Migrants from outside the EU have taken £120billion more from the state than they paid in taxes over 17 years

Report finds immigrants have cost more in handouts than paid in taxes

Non-European migrants living in Britain have cost £120billion since 1995

By contrast EU migrants since 2000 made a net contribution of £20billion

Research comes at a time when there is public concern over migration

gf I do go along with your post but when do you say enough is enough
I asked this question for cynic to answer but he will not
do we allow the whole world to come and stand shoulder to shoulder and no services
and millions living on the streets which weather we like it or not it is happening

TANKER - 05 Nov 2014 09:46 - 49275 of 81564

I am a pensioner and pay £4800 tax and end up no better than a couple who have never worked and paid nothing in to the system

they pay no rent no c/t no insurances .which is over £180 a week in benefits

TANKER - 05 Nov 2014 09:48 - 49276 of 81564

What part of the forces where you in? my dad was conscripted just after the war into the Marines navy, for 3 years saw no action though. Was told he loved to come home but when he got here he always wanted to get back to Malta, and North Africa.

Was on the air craft carrier HMS OCEAN.

Used to love SPlICE THE MAINBRACE........wasnt that the daily tot of rum.

This net contribution from EU migrants doesn't tell the real story. The migrants are often taking jobs that UK people could do. That is a net loss due to benefits paid out to the UK unemployed. It also doesn't take into consideration the knock on effects to infrastructure such as health and education, areas where there are shortages.

goldfinger - 05 Nov 2014 09:52 - 49279 of 81564

Slow down a bit TANKER I cant keep with you.

TANKER - 05 Nov 2014 09:53 - 49280 of 81564

all my family RAF

TANKER - 05 Nov 2014 09:54 - 49281 of 81564

GF WAITING FOR YOUR ANSWER WHEN DO WE SY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

cynic - 05 Nov 2014 09:55 - 49282 of 81564

MrT .... why do you have to mention your poxy service record and that of your (grand)daughters almost every single day ...... it's awfully boring after the 12 time of telling

anyway, who actually cares whether she/they work in the armed forces or, for that matter, for a stockbroker in the city?
the guy in the city is probably in more danger of being run over by a bus or a taxi than your (grand)daughters getting wounded in action

TANKER - 05 Nov 2014 10:01 - 49283 of 81564

cynic . gf ask the question you sad moron .
like everthing you do you avoid answering a question
when do we say we can take no more immigrants .

TANKER - 05 Nov 2014 10:03 - 49284 of 81564

perhaps it is because I am proud to fight for my country
like buying a poppy and donating money to those that need help

required field - 05 Nov 2014 10:05 - 49285 of 81564

I see that the newspapers have published some crap about how good letting in loads of migrants has been for Britain.....how they pay lots of taxes and contribute to the UK economy !.....really ???....well......some immigrants ...yes .....but not that illegal lot in Calais....that sort will just turn the UK into a dump......if I go that way and they cross the road : I'm going to have a job not running them over !...
