How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?
Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

take it from experience - a dangerous game to play - remember in running you are watching at approx 2 or 3 second delay, people with SIS are watching real time

Know what you re saying, but all I did was to wait for the odds to move in my favour and then placed the bet, just had to do the same again. making hard work of getting this right at the moment, but very very early days. Just practise required. Pro has got that many facilities, it's all a bit mind boggling. Only placing small bets so even if I get it wrong, I'm in no danger of visiting the bank manager!!

oops, managed to put a 20 back bet on, much to my surprise. However, covered it and greened up. Much better profit than 4p! Best go back to my 2 bets!!

"Scrip - Just tried to download the raw avi file from ba pro, but get 'page not found' "
I made an error on the initial upload which was corrected quickly. I hope that's the last time I am compared to Adam!

Be careful this afternoon guys , betfairs record of going down on Saturdays is becoming a bit worrying.
I've missed most of the outages due to my misfortune of having to watch Ebbooo ... off to Maesteg to see them today so be lucky guys ... and Helen.
Scrip .. I'll be in touch next week sometime , cheers.

I'm not around again today but teams that are mis priced this morning are Newcastle, too much, Man Utd, too little, and Middlesborough too little.

another point to check apart from what dil said is if playing the football make sure it is in play as the last couple of sats only a few have been turned in play but only in the second half, beware if you leave an open position be lucky all

Might have a go this avo as Mr Helen is working most of the day. Obviously very small stakes just to see if I've got the hang of it.

Thanks Choccie. I actually feel far more nervous about a 2 betfair position than I would on a 10pp share position! Only doing it for the crac, as the Irish would say :0)

Re: post 4961
LOL!
Thanks Scrip.
Out of curiosity (read me being nosy) I downloaded his videos. I dont think anyone who has been on your course would learn anything new about how to scalp the horse racing market. But what I found fascinating, was the insight the videos gave into the life of a fulltime betfair trader.
There are some hilarious moments when hes waiting for something to happen in the market and when his trades go pear shaped. His videos are best not watched if there are children present or your not a fan of karaoke lol. Hence the earlier Adam impersonation quip

Went very slow from about 2.50 at my end - just about ok now but still wary
Scrip: "I'm not around again today but teams that are mis priced this morning are Man Utd, too little" - very good call
