Desire Petroleum are drilling in Falklands (DES)

free hit countersDesire Petroleum

<>Desire Petroleum plc (Desire) is a UK company listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) dedicated to exploring for oil and gas in the North Falkland Basin.

Desire has recently completed a 6 well exploration programme. The Liz well encountered dry gas and gas condensate at 2 separate levels while other wells recorded shows.
Together with the Rockhopper Exploration Sea Lion oil discovery in the licence to the north, these wells have provided significant encouragement for the potential of the North Falkland Basin. The oil at Sea Lion is of particular interest as this has demonstrated that oil is trapped in potentially significant quantities in a fan sandstone on the east flank of the basin. It is believed that over 50% of this east flank play fairway is on Desire operated acreage.

Desire has now completed new 3D seismic acquisition which provides coverage over the east flank play, Ann, Pam and Helen prospects. The results from fast-track processing of priority areas are provided in the 2011 CPR. A farm-out to Rockhopper has been announced. The revised equities are shown on the licence map (subject to regulatory approval and completion of the farm-in well).

mingbeaver, Hello, Relative newcomer to DES as an investor and consequently bow to yours/markymars& eddies knowledge of this stock, could you explain the apparent real confidence projected that Shell/Encana are hot favourites to become partner/s to DES in the near term. Apologies for covering, to most, old ground. Thanks & Rgds.

markymar - 21 Jan 2005 15:46 - 500 of 6492

Ming sounds very good to me the 3 now we need to find the others at least another 3+ maybe BP and Lasmo or british gas or evergreen who know but top 3 i think so far Yes .

jnk i think you need to go back to befor christmas and read the posts and links to Encana are there with Rockhopper.

From Greenwich finals year ended

The Group continues to hold an interest in the issued share capital of Desire Petroleum plc which has extensive oil and gas interests off-shore the Falkland Islands.

Recently the value of the Desire investment has increased substantially following publication of the results of a 3-D seismic survey and reports on the progress of its search for a farm-in partner to fund a second round of drilling on new seismic targets.

just heard that desire are to raise 50million pounds by placing shares with institutions, i think the shares will be placed at .50p and drilling to start in August.

I told that the institutions are not allowed to sell the shares for a period of 1 year.

not sure if this is true or false,.,however the truth will be known next week as this is the so called news is to break..

in any event.. iam told a target price of 1.20 (copied from iii)

markymar - 23 Jan 2005 16:44 - 504 of 6492

Assetgold why i ask is that on iii web site you said you bought them at 9.5p which means you bought them in 2003 at know time in 2004 did they go under 10p so i would say that something is a miss with your postings.

"i mentioned Encana and Talisman.. as these were the names branded to me.. from the chap who advised me to buy at 9.5p."

I have been following Des almost every day since they came to my attention on Jan 20th 2004 and the mid price to my knowledge since then has never dipped below that days price of 11.25p!!!
If Assetgold is right how good is this news ?

markymar - 23 Jan 2005 20:14 - 508 of 6492

Its one person word and so far his record is poor go through his posts on iii.

Wait till the proper news comes then we might have things to talk about and debate on instead of hot air as which it is all at moment.

Assetgolds post from iii

i mentioned Encana and Talisman.. as these were the names branded to me.. from the chap who advised me to buy at 9.5p.
..............................................................................

So you bought at 9.5p in march.....Dont think so!just look at the graph above it never went under 10p or are you going to tell me the graph is wrong.

So this chap told you to buy at 9.5p and told you about Encana and Tailsman

Thats they way it sounds like to me, you wrote the above not me.

Guys, everyone wants to profit from this, so let's row the one way and not in opposite directions...............remember the old adage, 'DYOR'

watcher - 24 Jan 2005 16:47 - 514 of 6492

interesting day. Buys outnumber sells and the price goes down. Looks like the manipulation phase is entering the next phase and no matter how the buys verus the sells goes each day it won't effect the sp, till there is news.

HUSTLER - 24 Jan 2005 17:33 - 515 of 6492

agreed watcher
desperate for news, treading water at present
if a partner is announced sp should take off
we all like this one so have to support it until
news breaks if positive we all want to be still onboard

Hi all

Markymar how ya doing ? Your the man !

It looks like we have another doji candle, this should change the current trend (refering to short term trend). It is generaly a good indicator as the doji before this one is sat right on top of the chart. This told us we may change direction & we did. So lets hope this one is correct! News must be just around the corner. Marky ? The stochastic oscillator also looks like it may change direction.
