Im afraid youve got your facts wrong on this occasion.

It's the way the EAW works when going through UK courts.

You have little or no protection against unfair prosecution, as no evidence is required in the first instance.


Think back a few years to the plane spotting geeks who fell foul of greek law for taking a few pictures of aircraft in plain sight of the roadway.

The EAW is a good thing. The process from our point of view has improved. If an EAW is issued for the UK then our judges now have to have oversight of the process and can reject it if it is unreasonable. The EAW is just a quicker to extradite people who are wanted in other EU countries and cut down on the expense and delay.

The EAW has no bearing on the plane spotters in Greece as they were arrested in Greece. The EAW is for wanted people who have fled across borders.
