THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

You can see the skid marks on Osborne.

Haystack - 10 Nov 2014 19:05 - 49906 of 81564

These are just parliamentary procedural matters. A lot of fuss about nothing and soon forgotten. We will have the EAW however it is done. It is all on the parliament channel now.

goldfinger - 10 Nov 2014 19:08 - 49907 of 81564

And so will Teresa May its ongoing and again doesnt look like it will take place.

The Tory Back Benches Mogg and co are turning on the home secratary.

Rees Mogg as just produced a paper saying the vote was to be discussed today and voted on but Camoron and May in collusion have diverted it and after he gave his word in PMQs last wednesday that it would be sorted before the Rochester By election.

hilary - 10 Nov 2014 19:08 - 49908 of 81564

What is so bad about the EAW? Would you rather criminals were able to leg it to the Costa del Crime, never to face justice?

Strewth, some folks on here are brain-dead!

goldfinger - 10 Nov 2014 19:10 - 49909 of 81564

We wont have it before the Rochester By election unless May backs down which looks like an option now.

Fred1new - 10 Nov 2014 19:12 - 49910 of 81564

No,

I would prefer them to go to Austria.

I like Spain.

8-)

goldfinger - 10 Nov 2014 19:12 - 49911 of 81564

Thats just it Hilary, Labour and the Tory back benches want the vote tonight.

May Canmoron and the Tory front benches dont want the vote tonight.

Im afraid youve got your facts wrong on this occasion.

MaxK - 10 Nov 2014 19:13 - 49912 of 81564

It's the way the EAW works when going through UK courts.

You have little or no protection against unfair prosecution, as no evidence is required in the first instance.

Think back a few years to the plane spotting geeks who fell foul of greek law for taking a few pictures of aircraft in plain sight of the roadway.

Haystack - 10 Nov 2014 19:15 - 49913 of 81564

The EAW is a good thing. The process from our point of view has improved. If an EAW is issued for the UK then our judges now have to have oversight of the process and can reject it if it is unreasonable. The EAW is just a quicker to extradite people who are wanted in other EU countries and cut down on the expense and delay.

Haystack - 10 Nov 2014 19:18 - 49914 of 81564

The EAW has no bearing on the plane spotters in Greece as they were arrested in Greece. The EAW is for wanted people who have fled across borders.

MaxK - 10 Nov 2014 19:19 - 49915 of 81564

They had returned home, but had to go back.

goldfinger - 10 Nov 2014 19:22 - 49916 of 81564

May on now she will not allow the vote to be cast.

What a pathetic show from her.

Hays Labour will vote yes for the EAW what on earth are you rambling on about???????

MaxK - 10 Nov 2014 19:23 - 49917 of 81564

However, there may be a result in the EAW.

Last I heard, some Spanish magistrates were very interested in talking to Tony Blair about war crimes.

You never know.

goldfinger - 10 Nov 2014 19:32 - 49918 of 81564

Well that would be fine by me Max.

BUT THE FACT IS DAVID CAMORON STOOD UP IN PMQs LAST WEEK AND PROMISED A VOTE ON THE EAW BEFORE THE ROCHESTER BY ELECTION.

TONIGHT IS THE ONLY OPPORTUNITY AND CAMORON HAS GONE BACK ON HIS WORD AND TORY BACK BENCHES AGREE.

MaxK - 10 Nov 2014 19:36 - 49919 of 81564

Cameroon is an expert on going backwards gf.

Haystack - 10 Nov 2014 19:51 - 49920 of 81564

MaxK
The plane spotters had to go back as they were released on bail. The bail conditions were that they should return for the trial.

hilary - 10 Nov 2014 19:52 - 49921 of 81564

Fishfinger,

MPs might want the vote tonight, but this is what Cameron actually said last week:

"I am not delaying having a vote on it. There will be a vote on it. We need, in order to have a vote on it, the small matter of a negotiation to take place within Europe, which up to now the Spanish have been blocking. I think the Spanish will shortly remove their block, and at that moment we will be able to have a vote."

So tell me please, have the Spanish removed their block yet? Has Cameron reneged on his word?

Yet again, a whole load of desperate Socialist propaganda over a non-event.

hilary - 10 Nov 2014 19:54 - 49922 of 81564

And in the meantime, the tiny-minded, ignorant, racist UKIPpers feel affronted because the first few letters in 'European Arrest Warrant' happen to spell Europe.

Haystack - 10 Nov 2014 20:00 - 49923 of 81564

LOL
