THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

The EAW has no bearing on the plane spotters in Greece as they were arrested in Greece. The EAW is for wanted people who have fled across borders.

MaxK - 10 Nov 2014 19:19 - 49915 of 81564

They had returned home, but had to go back.

goldfinger - 10 Nov 2014 19:22 - 49916 of 81564

May on now she will not allow the vote to be cast.

What a pathetic show from her.

Hays Labour will vote yes for the EAW what on earth are you rambling on about???????

MaxK - 10 Nov 2014 19:23 - 49917 of 81564

However, there may be a result in the EAW.

Last I heard, some Spanish magistrates were very interested in talking to Tony Blair about war crimes.

You never know.

goldfinger - 10 Nov 2014 19:32 - 49918 of 81564

Well that would be fine by me Max.

BUT THE FACT IS DAVID CAMORON STOOD UP IN PMQs LAST WEEK AND PROMISED A VOTE ON THE EAW BEFORE THE ROCHESTER BY ELECTION.

TONIGHT IS THE ONLY OPPORTUNITY AND CAMORON HAS GONE BACK ON HIS WORD AND TORY BACK BENCHES AGREE.

MaxK - 10 Nov 2014 19:36 - 49919 of 81564

Cameroon is an expert on going backwards gf.

Haystack - 10 Nov 2014 19:51 - 49920 of 81564

MaxK
The plane spotters had to go back as they were released on bail. The bail conditions were that they should return for the trial.

hilary - 10 Nov 2014 19:52 - 49921 of 81564

Fishfinger,

MPs might want the vote tonight, but this is what Cameron actually said last week:

"I am not delaying having a vote on it. There will be a vote on it. We need, in order to have a vote on it, the small matter of a negotiation to take place within Europe, which up to now the Spanish have been blocking. I think the Spanish will shortly remove their block, and at that moment we will be able to have a vote."

So tell me please, have the Spanish removed their block yet? Has Cameron reneged on his word?

Yet again, a whole load of desperate Socialist propaganda over a non-event.

hilary - 10 Nov 2014 19:54 - 49922 of 81564

And in the meantime, the tiny-minded, ignorant, racist UKIPpers feel affronted because the first few letters in 'European Arrest Warrant' happen to spell Europe.

LOL

ICM/Guardian poll: support for Labour drops amid criticism of Ed Miliband

Labour’s poll rating has dropped three percentage points on last month’s, reducing its lead to the slenderest of margins over the Conservatives, according to Guardian/ICM research.

Labour and Ed Miliband are going down together

A leadership challenge from Alan Johnson failed to materialise, so Ed Miliband and Labour will limp on to the general election, deceiving themselves that they can win

goldfinger - 10 Nov 2014 20:11 - 49926 of 81564

Wrong Hilary you are missing the point where he said directly to Ed Milliband that a vote on the EAW would go ahead BEFORE the ROCHESTER by election.

Eyvete Cooper earlier in the debate read out the precise words Camoron used.

goldfinger - 10 Nov 2014 20:21 - 49927 of 81564

Here we are hilary in black and white, Ill wait for an apology thankyou.

The Prime Minister: I am not delaying having a vote on it. There will be a vote on it. We need, in order to have a vote on it, the small matter of a negotiation to take place within Europe, which up to now the Spanish have been blocking. I think the Spanish will shortly remove their block, and at that moment we will be able to have a vote.

Edward Miliband: We all know the reason why the Prime Minister is not having a vote: it is the by-election in Rochester and Strood. He is paralysed by fear of another Back-Bench rebellion on Europe. So I want to make an offer to him. We have a Labour Opposition day next week. We will give him the time for a vote on the European arrest warrant, and we will help him to get it through.

The Prime Minister: There is only one problem with the right hon. Gentleman’s second question: we are going to have a vote, we going to have it before the Rochester by-election—his questions have just collapsed.

goldfinger - 10 Nov 2014 20:24 - 49929 of 81564

Has Cameron reneged on his word?

A BIG YES.

goldfinger - 10 Nov 2014 20:26 - 49930 of 81564

It looks like the Tory back benches and labour are trying to recall parliament tomorrow for the vote now.

This as certainly damaged Camoron and May in a big way.

Tories themselves are seething.

They were looking forward to jetting off on holiday, it all depends on the vote now.

Fred1new - 10 Nov 2014 20:27 - 49931 of 81564

I think the CBI received his contribution better than Cameron's.

Didn't you notice the head shaking sideways when the Moron was speaking.

=======

Tonight's debate certainly holds the tory party together.

The tories have made a farce out of the HP.

They are a farce!

cynic - 10 Nov 2014 20:29 - 49932 of 81564

is this EAW really that important?
from the very little i've bothered to read, we'ld potentially win a little bit on the one hand but lose an equal amount on the other

goldfinger - 10 Nov 2014 20:29 - 49933 of 81564

And Hilary as egg on her face ehhh Fred.
