So the Met Commisioner has said something (again) that has caused some controversy, or at least given the media something to chew on during the pre-bank holiday quiet week. If you haven't heard it was along the lines of people feeling safe enough to leave their doors unlocked - he was referring to the London area but crime is a national problem.
Living in the Greater London area personally I can say 100% catagorically there ain't no way I or anyone I know would leave any door unlocked, not even to pop upstairs briefly. So wherever he is referring to, it's certainly not in my neck of the woods!
As the kids round here would say "You is havin' a larf!"
It is a national problem Alan no doubt about that, worse in cities I think then in smaller communities but that said Mull of Kintyre is looking all of a sudden a rosy place LOL But having lived with the 'lock it' mentality could we ever adapt? I doubt it, sad as it is I think being less trusting I think just gets in your blood in the end.
