In the US, the Dow last rose 166 points at 13,004, the Nasdaq added 60 points at 3,020
and the S&P500 gained 12 points at 1,414.

In Asia today, the markets in Japan are closed for a public holiday and the Hang Seng
was recently up 486 points (2.15%) at 23,143.

WTI crude oil traded at $91.65 a barrel and Brent crude at $111.11.

Gold settled at $1,671 an ounce.
