Traders Thread - Week commencing Monday 05th November 2018 (TRAD)

CC - 05 Nov 2018 07:53 - 5 of 51

Good morning.

Stan - 05 Nov 2018 08:40 - 6 of 51

Morning All.

CC - 05 Nov 2018 13:07 - 8 of 51

I have written on here a number of times before that I intended to give up day-trading as the time and effort didn't reflect the rewards and sitting at a screen all day is adversely affecting my health.

So, sadly today I've emptied my CMC account and withdrawn a third from Saxo. I have an open position with Saxo which is nothing to do with day-trading which I'll unwind over the next couple of weeks and then I'll empty that too.

I feel sad as I love day-trading, it makes me happy, but sometime you have to move on.

Over the last year I've made nearly 9% on my day-trading pot. It should be far more and has been at certain points but it appears I just don't have the self discipline I used to have. 95% of the time I make good decisions but the 5% I don't, it seems I'm either unable to recognise I've made a bad decision or worse I'm unable to react fast enough.

Big decision cc! Will we be seeing you on the Great British Bake Off or Master Chef maybe, now that you will have all that extra time on your hands?!

I'm a bit worried about what I'm going to do with my time.

Today I am researching fix rate investments. I'm looking for 5% yield over a 2-5 year period. Not much out there. All a bit frustrating.

CC - for a 5% yield, I hold quite a few REITS - maybe worth a look - there are threads on here for some.

LXI,WHR,AEWU,SREI.

RGL,LBOW,RESI.

One I bought for the yield - BBOX, has actually given me a 40+% capital growth - its toying with support @140p currently.

Anyway, you get the idea.

Morning all.

CC, Well done in putting your health first and remember now that you are older and wiser you can always go back to D/T at a time of your choice in the future.

Thanks for your suggestions Skinny. I'll add them to my small pile of options for yield.

I picked up a few more BBYB this morning but I can't buy any more of them now as my risk management rules preclude it, so my search continues
